He follows islamic law to the letter. What is it that you think he mis-interprets? Why are so many other muslims following him, but not you? Are you less muslim than he is ? Videodogg
Sorry, I must've imagined the sections were the Quran explicity prohibits suicide and the killing of innocents.

wow...please research a subject before you comment :?
FACT: Bin Ladin's writing ARE heavily saturated in Koranic scripture. He justifies everything he says.atayl22
If you take it out of context, yes, everything he says is backed up by the Qur'an. For example, one of the favorites is this verse:
"Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)."
- Qur'an 9:5
...but in context, this page gives an excellent explanation of what it really means:
This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them... (as quoted above).
Directly after this permission to fight, the same verse continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them... for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that "as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous."

Yep, they are all members of al Al-Qaeda. Also, all Christians are members of the KKK.
Anyway, do you really think anyone would answer a serious "yes" here if they DID agree with his ideas? Why would someone who hated western culture even be on this website reading the forums?
On top of that, I don't know if I necessarily believe that most of those tapes really are bin Laden, but that is another matter...

This post is soooo full of win.
(I'm not a muslim btw. but i seriously respect Islam.)
Al-Qaeda and Iran's government are totally against each other. Both are Muslim, but they are like Catholics and Protestants, they don't believe the exact same things.

Yeah, Sunnis and Shiites have not historically got on well. It's all about who the next religious leader after Mohammad's grandson was. Mohammed's grandson wanted to make his teacher the next leader, whilst islamic tradition said that it should be the nearest relative, which was his uncle. This conflict caused a huge schism in the religion, and the two sides ( I think the shiites followed the teacher but I can't remeber for certain) have never reconciled. So Iran have nothing to do with Al-Qaeda.
Edit: Yep, my Religious Studies teacher is an idiot, just googled it so discard any information in this post.

What am I thinking of then? what caused this schism? I'm sure that that was what I was taught at school, though it's quite possibly rubbish as the teacher is an idiot.
Does Bush speak for Americans? The Pope for all Catholics?bluezy
Actually yes.. Bush does speak for America and it's people since he is the leader of the country.

and Bin Laden is a nut-job who lives in caves. he doesn't speak for 99.9% of Muslims.I notice there are a lot of Muslims in this forum. I'm not sure what countries you are from or how devout you consider yourself. But, Bin Lauden claims to be speaking for all of you. Is he? Videodogg
Do Christians all follow the Rhetoric and actions of the KKK?

Sounds to me like it means that Muslims will be friendly to you only if you become Muslim.
What? That's like asking if the KKK speaks for all Americans :lol:jointed
True. But most americans openly reject the KKK and will not try to justify or rationalize their actions.

Well, the vast majority of Muslims and Muslim countries condemn the actions of Al Qaeda.

The same can be said when it comes to the KKK in America.
Not really. Most people in the US look upon the KKK with utter disgust and anger. The KKK needs police protection when they have a parade or march as most people are throwing objects and giving them the finger.
Regarding Bin Laden, everytime I see a muslim leader comment on him in the US - it's always "We don't agree with his actions BUT such and such". There's a difference between condemning something and unconditionally condemning something. Bin Laden calls for the murder of innocents, there's no rationalizing that.

The Muslims have done enough to condemn Bin Laden and his compatriots. I don't know how it is in America but Hizb-ut-Tahrir needs police protection everytime they protest or have one of their marches, and they're not even pro-Bin Laden.
