With the snap of your fingers, one major world problem disappears. Which one do you choose to kick?

I'd probably go with ridding the world of poverty. Poverty and crime seem to have a strong connection, and poor areas are largely affected by disease and mental anguish, so kicking poverty out of the picture would help alleviate some other problems, at least to an extent.

I'd make everyone smarter so they could think of their own solutions to a problem they might have.

Selfishness. If this quality were to be eradicated from within mankind then most of the other problems will quickly follow suit.

Diseases and mental health problems seems like the obvious answer to me, but that is probably because it has affected my family the most. edit: apparently I'm making up words now.

Yeah pretty much this. We wouldn't have have of the problems we had in the past if people were intelligent plus there wouldn't be people in poverty because there would be a use for someone with intellect.

Diseases and mental issues will be cured and no longer a problem in the near future. Discrimination is not that much of an issue these days, and it's getting even better as people are becoming more open minded.

Crime is a result of poverty so that would be pointless as well.

Getting rid of poverty is the best choice because not only do you get rid of poverty which is terrible on it's own, you also get rid of most crime, and lots of disease that spread because of the badsanitation in poor areas.

Hmm.. I'd end natural disasters like drought, vulcanoes blowing up near civilization, earthquakes that kill millions, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods - all the extremes that kill people ever single day. If drought and floods could be controlled, we wouldn't have to worry about going hungry as crops wouldn't wilt or drown. If volcanoes, hurricanes, tsunamis and other natural disasters could be harnessed, imagine the amounts of energy we could harvest from it.

You might as well just say you eliminate power-hunger and greed. Intelligence doesn't automatically make people act selflessly, with no sort of benefit to their own existence.

How so? If we could control the natural energies, a lot of problems would go away. You can't deny that. I never said I'd completely remove them, I said control them. I realise our planet has all those different reactions because of our home being a massive, almost living thing. The core is molten metal that churns, causing earthquakes when the tectonic plates we live on rub against eachother. Our oceans create tsunamis because of this, all the while the Earth's orbit makes winds blow.

The fact that I have no super powers. It's a problem for the whole world because if I had them then I could aid the world with its problems. Also, poverty will always exist, it's just economics. Unless you turn the whole world into some communist place.

It's an awful idea, but I guess you tried.

I'd get rid of Africa. Nothing good seems to be coming from that continent. I propose we exterminate life there and build millions of parking spots so that when we can modify the Higgs Boson and achieve light travel we can have teleporters at shopping centres that will take you to Neo-Africa aka the car park.

The purest water for everyone on Earth whenever they needed or wanted some. That's simple enough but might help a lot of people without disrupting natural processes like disease...or famine. There are a lot of problems that need to be fixed, but that's the most basic that not everyone has yet I think.

That's where you are wrong, my argument is that you lack good grammar skills. The evidence is here to prove that, and the evidence shown is irrefutable. So not only do I have an argument I have won it.

discrimination and prejudice.

human - human interactions seem to be the most problematic issues we have. nature, diseases, and conditions can be eventually overcome or prepared for effectively.

but discrimination is always around, just shifts in form and who the target is over time.
