Poverty, easily. Getting rid of poverty would in turn get rid of a large percentage of crimes. So that's like 2 birds with 1 stone.
EDIT:
A bit of a stretch here, but everyone not being in poverty implies that there's enough wealth to go around to fund medical research (stem cell, cure for AIDS, stuff like that) so could also lead to improve health treatments.
Because a super volcanoe in Yellowstone just waiting to explode isn't as awful and terrifying and devastating as crime. Poverty and diseases go hand in hand, more or less, with hunger, which would be fixed if the powers of our planet could be harnessed. You clearly didn't read a single line of what I wrote in reply to you and you clearly didn't give it a thought yourself, so, congratulations, you win the Littlest Idiot award.Tsunamis and hurricanes and volcanos (when's the last time you heard of a fuking volcano exploding?) and insignificant to things like crime, poverty and disease.
It's an awful idea, but I guess you tried.

I'd make everyone smarter so they could think of their own solutions to a problem they might have.22ToothpicksDamn! Came here to say that myself! :(
How is poverty losing to mental illness!?
I don't know, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. Something about being born, trapped, and fated to inevitably die in poverty seems a little more severe than the small percentage of the population with schizophrenia (not going to lie, my biggest fear is contracting schizophrenia, its been in my family).
In order for all people to have opportunity, they need to have access to adequate living conditions and a quality education. No one on Earth should be denied that, and I don't see how anyone would pick anything else!
Well, it doesn't just say mental illness, it says diseases and mental illness. So not only does it include the likes of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and depression, but also HIV/AIDS and cancer and tuberculosis and malaria, etc. And a lot of people in poverty die of these diseases as well. How is poverty losing to mental illness!?

discrimination and prejudice.
human - human interactions seem to be the most problematic issues we have. nature, diseases, and conditions can be eventually overcome or prepared for effectively.
but discrimination is always around, just shifts in form and who the target is over time.

So get to the root of the problem and get rid of humans! We only exist because Earth wanted plastic, and we're good at making it.

So you wish to get rid of 99% of Americans? What do you have against America?
War. Corrupt goverments. If we all shut up and help one another maybe we can fight disease and poverty.

The West Coast is very liberal. Surely California alone makes up more than 1% of the country. :P[QUOTE="Zevante101"]

I wonder how many Southerners would agree with you.If they had a decent understanding of political science on a universal basis, then they would:). It isn't just many southerners who are mistaken.
Energy.. If we could find a cheap and renewable energy source that was infinite, we could solve many problems.. sSubZerOoAgree.
Going by what's on the list, poverty.
Hard to pick, but I'm between diseases and crime. No crime at all means no genocides either or anything terrible, but I imagine it would put a lot of people who dedicate themselves to stopping it out of a job.
Diseases is also a great pick, no more famine or cancer or terrible illnesses that cause pain or anguish in people. It wouldn't necessarily put anyone out of a job, since people will always look to cure things that aren't even problems, trying to live longer or be healthier or last longer in bed or whatever, and doctors will always be necessary when people are hurt.
