Christ suffered tremendous agony for mankind. His beard was ripped off from His face. He was whipped so badly that His face and body no longer looked human.
During the three days of His death, He suffered the other punishment, spiritual death (separation from God). That was the one thing He didn't want to endure, but knew He had to.

He has answered your question several times already... If then don't repent then they are not forgiven. However if they do ever decide to repent then they will be forgiven.

Pretty much...I guess. Sinners have their entire lifetime on Earth to repent though, no matter how much they sin God will forgive them even as they take their final breath. IF they go to Hell it would be through their own fault, not Gods.
