I suspect that our Freedom has become a farce and we are too ignorant to it to notice.

America isn't, nor is it becoming Nazi Germany. It does, however, seem to be turning into Ancient Rome.
Alot of the stuff that's said in Zeitgeist is flat-out false. In all three parts. They just omit information that doesn't go with the message they're trying to present. The very make-up of the film, with its condescending air, freaky music, and fancy editing is a red flag, far as I'm concerned. >_>

I'm looking at the clips of Zeitgeist on Youtube and I'm looking at the original, and I have noticed that the clips on youtube have had pieces added and taken away.
I don't know why anyone would want to change it unless they wanted to make it look stupid. Have you seen the original?

"Well, the heretics are putting up a fight, but the gladiators are slaughtering them, dude. It's not much of a fight. AHH! They'll have trouble cleaning out the Colosseum after this."

I'm looking at it in terms of America basically being all over the world, being the leader (mostly) in military tactics and technology, and one thing that really comes to mind is the issue of babies in America. Abortion, genetic changes, its a little too close to Old Roman culture for my taste. It is the new age "kill the imperfect child."

I agree with what you said about abortion. The rest is not at all comparable to Rome. Rome wasn't just everywhere in the world; Rome WAS the world. Rome controlled everything from economics to trade to religion to politics, and if you said different, you suffered a most cruel and painful death.
Doesn't sound like America to me.

I've examined several of the claims in Zeitgeist, and quite frankly, much of it is unparsed bull****For example, the claims of the mandatory national ID by June 2008... it's August. No such thing has happened.
The Patriot Act does technically enable the government to do very unconstitutional things, however, they aren't going to be using it for much more than sloppy surveilance, as the ACLU and media are waiting to light a fire under their ass. >_>
there is no such thing as freedom. You are always confined by the times, systems, norms, nations, age, DNA, and so on and so forth.CruxisXIII
Yes but Zeitgeist is talking about Financial Slavery.

Zeitgeist is real.
The film's very make-up is a gigantic red flag. The whole over-blown 'overture' is an obvious plea to your emotions. Then when it gets to the Carlin monologue, it preys on two emotions - disdain with the audio, and disgust with the visual (particularly with the arrow piercing the heart).
Also, note how the narrator never shows his bloody face, and speaks in a near-monotone. This is to give the illusion of omniscience. This is to make you trust the speaker, and the overture and the awful, awful soundtrack have lulled you into a state of gullibility, so to speak.
Also, be very suspicious of quote mining. >_>

Do you even realize just how bad Nazi Germany was? Comparin to Nazi Germany of certain points is like saying Mozza Cheese and Tuna are the same, just because they both smell bad. Whereas they're not the same at all because one's straight up meat has a totally different taste and texture, and the nutritional info is different too

Do you have any idea how oppressive Britain was to it's own people?
Anyone caught in any forest who wasn't a lord (95%) was treated as game and could be hunted and killed legally by a lord (5%).
The punishment for killing a serf was a fine that could be afforded by the nobility. But anyone who killed a member of the nobility was sentenced to death.

That was how long ago? Even before the Holocaust?? Plus, if you're part of 95% of the population and you suck at hiding enough to be caught in the woods (why are you even there?) by 5% of the population IN THE WOODS, maybe you should be shot

Each generation of megalomaniacs will have to go about their evil in a new way. Religion, Serfdom, Racism, Debt, have all been used to control people.
Many of the defining factors of serfdom never went away. We are still indebted to the land we live on. Britain created a merchant class system around the time of the signing of the Magna Carter (the foundation of Democracy in Britain and traditionally America) which saw the end of traditional serfdom and the foundation of where we are today.
