,,,No. And the U.S should never implement such a harsh rule. It's insane to cut someone's hands for stealing.

What punishment would you recommend for a man who rapes a 5 year old girl?I think cutting off hands is too harsh.
If it wasn't something like a multimillion dollar robbery, and more of a petty crime type of thing, I think lashes is good enough.

:| No... Should the U.S. start hanging homosexuals for being gay aswell?[QUOTE="Omni-Wrath"][QUOTE="Citrus25"]

What punishment would you recommend for a man who rapes a 5 year old girl? castration? chemical or otherwiseI do not really care. I understand that sometimes stealing is essential to keep on living, but if you break the rules you have got to willing to deal with the consequences. And hell no, if I have ever have to steal something I do not want to have my hands removed. What do you say to this punishment? do you support it?

What punishment would you recommend for a man who rapes a 5 year old girl? Prison; criminal punishment is not there to satiate the mercurial moral outrage of the public at large.depends on what is stolen....if someone robs my house...I'd be lookin to cut both hands off..and put a slug in their kneecaps......but yea seriously it is crude and should never come to the US..(it would never even be brought up here anyway)

2 years for painting stuff is still far too much imo. and you're taking someone who wasn't REALLY a criminal (ok yeah some damages from painting, he didn't shoot anyone, he didn't steal anything, he didn't do anything really terrible) and sticking them in jail with real criminals for 2 years. if he wasn't a criminal before he definitely will be one once he gets out. good job making another criminal america, good job.....

What punishment would you recommend for a man who rapes a 5 year old girl?Life in Jail.
Tourturing, cutting limbs off they will do nothing. It's sad a person would rape a person but sending that criminal with immensive amounts of punisments would well have no diffrence then sending the criminal to jail and letting him rot for the rest of their lives.

Please don't refer it to as the Whole United States of Americia.
Each state has it's own rules and regulations for such crimes.
And no 2 year's isnt't hat bad. He destroyed far too much. And after what he did 2 years might teach him a lesson.
[QUOTE="perphekt"]Bet you'd never steal again...Citrus25That's the whole point.... I am not saying US should do this, but if US wants people to not steal things ever again then that rule should work.
Look it's human nature to want something. Some people don't work for things and steal. Cutting their hands off wouldn't make too much of an impact sinnce some maythink they would be able to steal without getting caught.
No matter what laws you may add crimes will occur.

You're right - those were weak. I'll hand you that one.
In the right thread, they would be quite handy...I wonder if there's a handsome reward for turning in a thief to the authorities?
True justice supports rehabilitation, not retribution. Cutting a man's hands off for stealing won't teach him not to steal, but will simply make him unable to steal--it'll also make him unable to work, unable to care for himself and so on. If you can rehabilitate the criminal and teach him why it's socially unacceptable to steal, then you'll have a smarter man who can still contribute to society.

Tell that to the people whose property he vandalized and ask them if and how much their insurance covers it. On that note, if you are telling me that our prison system is such fail that putting someone in there in hopes that they get rehabilitated but they dont just shows me that we are wasting our time incarcerating people because we make them criminals when they get out. BUT then putting them in jail is too harsh, let alone lashings or cutting off someones hand... so what do YOU propose we do?[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"][QUOTE="Lto_thaG"] In the right thread, they would be quite handy...Lto_thaG

What punishment would you recommend for a man who rapes a 5 year old girl?Prison, at least 20 years.
However, you can't rehabilitate in that case. What do you suggest to not endanger other children?Prison, at least 20 years, without parole.
