Both Bernie and Hilary are tied or close to being tied right now while O'Malley has around 0.5%.

It looks like O'Malley is gone from the race now.

So it's a tie between Bernie and Shill dog since they get the same number of delegates. I think that's better for Bernie since he's the underdog, and he'll get New Hampshire no problem so there's some momentum. After that, I have no clue how it'll go.

But his momentum will crash to an extent most likely once they get to the states where Hilary's support is stronger. Anyway, both O'Malley and Bush did worse than I expected.

Imagine if young people actually informed themselves on the candidates instead of just going with what they see circulated on Twitter and Facebook, they would actually prefer Trump over Cruz yet they're celebrating Trump's loss. Quite stupid.

Bernie is obviously the worst candidate possible but young people are too stupid to realize that. They really think "free" means free, they really think Bernie can fight against terrorism. I can't even picture Bernie dealing with ISIS without laughing it's just hilarious.

I want Sanders to win the nomination though so it's an easier win for Trump.

I predict.

Trump will win.

I will say "look this proves that republicans are shitty people"

Somebody will say "this doesn't represent all conservatives. Wah! Wah!!"

Trump is far less scary than Hillary, Sanders or Cruz. Hillary puts her own "convenience" ahead of the safety of our country and the other 2 are too far extreme to the left and right respectively.

Trump actually isn't that bad. Is he the best option? Not at all because Kasich and Rubio are far more qualified and equipped and level headed to be president. But out of the main 4 front runners right now Trump is actually the best option or least dangerous/scary option depending on your view.

Trump is far less then Hillary?

You do realize that he called to end the internet right?

Hillary should be awaiting trial right now. If her last name wasn't Clinton they would be ready to lock her up for life.

She had about 8 hearings against her.

Nothing was ever turned up.

The mails wont her at all.

If Republicans cared so much about those three ambassadors whom were killed in Libya, maybe they shouldnt have begged Obama to intervene in Libya in the first place, but its always Obama fault.

Republicans counted more than 180,000 caucusgoers, topping their 2012 attendance record of 121,503 by an estimated 60,000 people.

And while Democratic numbers weren’t completely tallied at the time of this publication, all indications pointed to a robust performance, although not likely to top the roughly 240,000 total who showed up in 2008...

@Serraph105: I wasn't exactly talking about his more economic stances, just that at the moment he is more appealing than say, the top two frontrunners of the Republican Party. I didn't really pay much attention to him in 2012 so I don't remember any of that, but I'll assume it's true. He has definitely made mistakes, but he seems to have improved at least socially towards a more moderate Republican view. For example, his attack on Trump towards his stance on Muslims. It was a very positive statement about Muslims and it was good that he spoke out that that isn't what the Republican Party stands for. I'm sure you can find other things socially to attack both Ryan or the GOP with, but at least he wants to make some progress.

Also I'm not sure if the last line is reference to all Republicans or their politicians or implying I'm a Republican, but no not all of them look out for the rich. It is true that some of them do seem to either be rich themselves or help out the rich in some way or form, but not all do.

Donald Trump Comes Out Of Iowa Looking Like Pat Buchanan

On Monday, Iowa voters did something that Republican “party elites” had failed to do for more than seven months: They rejected Donald Trump.

Trump received 24 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucuses, placing him closer to the third-place candidate, Marco Rubio (23 percent), than to the winner, Ted Cruz (28 percent). Trump underperformed his polls, which had him winning Iowa with 29 percent of the vote, while Cruz and Rubio outperformed theirs.

It’s not uncommon for the polls to be off in Iowa and other early-voting states, but the manner in which Trump underachieved is revealing. It turns out that few late-deciding voters went for him. According to entrance polls in Iowa, Trump won 39 percent of the vote among Iowans who decided on their candidate more than a month ago. But he took just 13 percent of voters who had decided in the last few days, with Rubio instead winning the plurality of those voters.

Could this have been a reaction to Trump’s failure to show up for last week’s GOP debate? It’s plausible. Trump, who seemed uncharacteristically chastened in his brief concession speech on Monday, might think twice before skipping a debate again. But there was no decline in his polls in New Hampshire or nationally after the missed debate, which suggests that something else might have been at work in Iowa.

Could it have been his lack of a ground game in Iowa? That’s possible, too. If so, it has interesting implications for the rest of Trump’s campaign. On the one hand, it’s hard to build a field operation on short notice, so if Trump had a poor one in Iowa he may face similar challenges in the remaining 49 states. On the other hand, a field operation potentially matters less in primary states than in caucus states like Iowa.

But there’s good reason to think that the ground game wasn’t the only reason for Trump’s defeat. Republican turnout in Iowa was extremely high by historical standards and beat most projections. Furthermore, Trump won the plurality of first-time caucus-goers.

There may have been a more basic reason for Trump’s loss: The dude just ain’t all that popular. Even among Republicans.

The final Des Moines Register poll before Monday’s vote showed Trump with a favorability rating of only 50 percent favorable against an unfavorable rating of 47 percent among Republican voters. (By contrast, Cruz had a favorable rating of 65 percent, and Rubio was at 70 percent.) It’s almost unprecedented for a candidate to win a caucus or a primary when he has break-even favorables within his own party.

Still, Trump had seemed poised to do it, in part because of the intensity of his support. He’s highly differentiated from the rest of the field — a strategic advantage in such a crowded race — and the voters who like Trump like him an awful lot. The disproportionate media coverage of Trump played a large role too, though. Most Republican voters like several candidates. How does a Republican voter who likes (for example) Trump, Cruz and Chris Christie choose among them? The answer seems to have a lot to do with which candidate is getting the most news coverage.

In Iowa, however, the media environment wasn’t as lopsided in Trump’s favor. Voters were blanketed with ads from all the candidates. And they sought out information on their own before settling on their vote. There was a late spike in Google searches for Cruz and Rubio in the state Monday, bringing them almost even with Trump, even as Trump continued to dominate in search traffic nationally.

What about those national polls showing Trump with support in the mid- to high 30s? They might also be a mirage, reflecting a combination of the Trump base (24 percent is nothing to sneeze at, but also well short of a winning coalition), plus a few other bandwagon-jumpers who come along for the ride but who may peel off as they research the candidates more deeply.

I wrote in August about “Donald Trump’s Six Stages Of Doom” and noted that this might be a problem for Trump. Several past factional candidates, including Pat Buchanan, Pat Robertson and Ron Paul,1 received somewhere around 25 percent of the vote in Iowa. Under some circumstances, 25 percent can be good enough to win an early state. But it leaves you well short of the majority you need to win a nomination.

What might Pat Buchanan plus obsessive, round-the-clock media coverage look like? Well, possibly a lot like Donald Trump. Iowa voters made Trump appear to be much more of a factional candidate along the lines of Buchanan, who received 23 percent of Iowa’s vote in 1996, than the juggernaut he’s been billed as. We’ll know a lot more after New Hampshire weighs in next week.

At least the good thing for the republicans is that Rubio came close to getting second place in the Iowa caucus even though Bush floundered which may be a bad thing for the democrats.

All of them.

If you're supposed to be here we will make sure you get the same sort of opportunities as everyone else.

If you don't belong here you'll be purged from the country.

There's no PC nonsense. There's nothing like "well we need to make this only for women because we don't think they can compete against men" no more "well remember everyone who is not white can line up over there for a different set of rules than everyone else"

No, no one gets special privileges just because of race, gender, religion, etc...

If you're talking about me you're wrong.

The United States has become too PC to get anything done. Each race, sex, religion wants their own set of rules and doesn't want to compete with anyone else.

Illegal aliens take from the country.

People in office owe too much to supporters to ever veto all bad ideas.

Trump is the greatest thing in our country right now, someone who will fix America and isn't stuck owing everyone to get things done.

I will remind users to critique, constructively, concepts and ideas, rather than attacking people on this forum. More than this forum, it is simply good behavior that I think people ought to feel grateful towards each other about when we feel slighted.

For example, attacking Democrats or Republicans, rather than the ideas of Democrats or Republicans, is unwelcome.

Thanks.

So Cruz actually wins here, while the Trump manages to get second place. And Hillary has beaten Bernie by a narrow margin, however it appears the victory smells fishy, considering how close it was, and word is getting around Hillary only won by somehow correctly getting all 6 coin tosses.

Hopefully Bernie can get New Hampshire, to me Bernie seems to be the best choice for our next President.

@Toph_Girl250:

I just think Sanders will be terrible with foreign affairs (critical), and I think age 74 is a factor....I really can't get over the foreign affairs issue for a president, I'd vote for him over any Republican but not over Hillary, who is FAR more poised to be an effective president.

I'm not as enthusiastic with her as I was in 2008 but she would make the best overall president of any one running. She would build on advancements made by Obama, not destroy them, as the Republicans would have us do.

Whether or not you like Bernie Sanders at all, his passion and integrity for wanting to help the middle class is amazing. His record is 100% clean, and he is just an incredible dude. How can you not agree that health care and access to education should be a right of every US citizen? So many European countries already do this. I absolutely question how he intends to actually PAY for this stuff, let alone get it through congress, but Bernie Sanders is a fucking OG, man. He has been standing up for common people for 40 years.

@Nick3306: You know he is just trolling right?

If you're talking about me you're wrong.

The United States has become too PC to get anything done. Each race, sex, religion wants their own set of rules and doesn't want to compete with anyone else.

Illegal aliens take from the country.

People in office owe too much to supporters to ever veto all bad ideas.

Trump is the greatest thing in our country right now, someone who will fix America and isn't stuck owing everyone to get things done.

Illegal immigrants did not destroy our economy. The "too big to fail" banks did. Wall Street fucked us, not anything else.

Bernies tax plan will decrease take home pay for the middle class by roughly 13%, that is how he plans on paying for everything.

Bernie loves to talk about taxing the billionaire class, but if you actually read his policies and listen to him(something most Bernie supporters refuse to do) he has also acknowledged that taxing billionaires will not be enough and that he plans to raise taxes on everyone by a considerable amount.

I don't see how raising taxes on struggling families are standing up for the common people, and I simply do not get how anyone can be okay with huge tax increases.

I would be okay with a tax increase if private health insurance premiums would be eliminated. Don't overlook this. Health insurance costs in upwards of 10,000$ a year in premiums, not to mention deductibles if you actually have to use it. If health insurance is free, that cost is completely eliminated. So many countries have universal health care, it's time for the USA to follow.

He's not racist

He's not a warmonger

He wants the best for America and true Americans, that is in no way a bad thing.

He hates muslims.

That should be enough.

He hates the ones that are trying to hurt innocent people

Everyone should hate them.

Looks like someone is blind to the world around them. I have a tip for you, observing the world through a television screen is the worst possible way to do it.

I don't watch television.

Pick another cliche

Have you ever even met a muslim.
