i thought it was atleast 16, because your muscles are still developing and if you start working them now
you will get some sort of mutation in your muscle growth. And im being serious, my PE teacher told me.Â
No, you are at the right age to start weight training as you are entering puberty and your testosterone levels (essential for building muscle) are increasing. Just make sure you do it right, don't listen to other 14-year olds. Form is everything, if you don't have the right form, you will be counter-productive and you will hurt yourself. Read my replies to your other thread. Done right, you will be a *MONSTER* by the time you are 18.SIapshot
define form? And you seem to know A LOT about weight training and such. So how should i progress using weights and stuff. And you said leg muscles incrase testosterone which increases efficiency of gaining muscles, so i should start with my legs? For legs are running and leg presses just fine? What about arms, bicep curls okay?Â
Negative. If that were true, they wouldn't allow kids under 16 to play football.i thought it was atleast 16, because your muscles are still developing and if you start working them now

Form is how you lift the weights, like posture.Weight training requires a lot of discipline, you will be in pain for the first two weeks, but if you keep at it, the pain goes away. It takes about 90 days before you start seeing results, so don't get discouraged.
You don't have to start with your legs, but make sure they are part of your workout. a typical workout is about 45 mins long (with a partner who knows what he's doing) 5 days a week. You want to work your chest one day, legs, arms, back, and shoulders, each on different days.
Remember, your legs will be killing you after your first workout (18-24 sets of legs) I strongly suggest that you hook up with some guys who know what they're doing. It is impossible to teach you proper form over the internet.
I might be getting annoying with my constant questions but when will i see my first visual signs of improvement in muscle mass and suchtehbiggerbossDepends on how hard you work. Don't try too hard or you might seriously injure yourself. Read my first post (above this if nobody posts now). If you work at a steady pace, you should see improvement in a week or two. When you first start, a little bit of soreness is normal.

kid, read my replies in your other posts and go throug the process of enlightment. But usually when you start using weights hard at first, mucles youve never notices before will creep up on you, like triceps and such. But yeah exercise first, lots of pushups, whatever works your shoulders, triceps, chest and back.Â
Well, in the other topic about how to gain muscles people told me not to since im only 14. I turn 15 in September. Im 5'5 and aroudn 125 pounds and i dont think ive grown an inch for a year:(. So why should i not start lifting weights, if i shouldnt life weights, anything i can do to gain muscles that wont be bad for me or whatever?tehbiggerboss
Best advice is to wait until you're 16 or 17. Wait until you're at leat as tall as you Dad before you start lifting weights. 14 is far too young to be lifting waits anyway. Do press-ups or chin-ups until you're older.

That's way too much for a first-timer. He should be doing around 5-10 sets with a weight that makes him tired at around the 15th rep.[QUOTE="hyruledweller"][QUOTE="SIapshot"][QUOTE="hyruledweller"]Negative. Sorry, i meant football in the english term, which (if you are america) is soccer to you? I still generally thinkÂ
14 yr olds should not over do it and if they are, take it slowly and not go stupid with the lifting.Â
i dont think its age more height/weight because i know i cant lift weights because ive not got enough meat on me :(

He should be doing around 5-10 sets with a weight that makes him tired at around the 15th rep. There are different types of weight training, what he wants to do is build mass. What you are talking about is more of an aerobic workout, designed to trim fat and cut an already built frame.Montaya, i DID read your posts in my other topic
Now please please please dont flame me, i know ima sound like the biggest tard in the world but what are sets?Â

cant do sets till i know what they are:PÂ
A set is anywhere between 1 and 20 repetitions. When you're trying to build mass, you start with a weight that you can lift, say, 15 times. That's one set. Then you increase the weight by 5-10lbs, and do, say 10 reps. That's 2 sets. So-on and so-forth.Montaya, i DID read your posts in my other topic

So that means they stop growing at 14? Womens bodies continue to develop into their 20s. Hell, I was 5'3 till I was 16 and I am now close to 5'7.

Im not saying they stop at 14, the person above me did. All im saying is that girls start puberty
generally 2 years before boys, thats all.Â
I would wait, i hear it does stump growth. Unless there is a reason. Dont do it to try to look tough and muscular, but if your doing it for a sport then I would say yes. But dont over do it.SaintLeonidasSo.... if you're doing it for a sport, it doesn't stunt your growth?
