I'm agreeing with the atheist, woah. This is the part where the world should blow up.

You a fundie right? They don't allow for much independent thought...even though at it's core....all religious beliefs are personal.

A fundy? No, but I do recognise a certain amount of doctrines which need to be confessed to be considered Christian.

The Divinity of Christ and the trinity amongst them. Im not about forcing creationism on anyone or saying you'll go to hell for that belief negative or positive, thats not my place.

Being a Christian necessitates being religious. C'mon, my dude. Seriously, WTF?

MadVybz

And you are assigning what he has to believe to be religious are you not? Last time I checked you weren't the authority.

You just pretty much showed us that you only don't take what either me or BluRay is saying seriously because we don't have a piece of paper or a badge to show we're 'the authority'.

Since this is the case I really don't see a point in going on any longer.

You think you're an authority on what someone is allowed to believe.?

Ah but he never said he followed religion. Just that he liked Christianity or some wording...I'm paraphrasing. At no time did he state he followed specific denominations. And he's certainly allowed to follow Christ without joining a specific religion. Period.

That wasn't even the basis of the discussion. I think you need to re-read what's been written.

Sure it was. BluRay jumped on the dude for his beliefs. And the dude never said he subscribed to any organized religion. That does not mean he can't pick up a bible and follow the teachings of Jesus. You guys are very narrow minded about this.

And all I did was highlight the difference between being religious and being spiritual. But somehow you managed to turn that into an authority issue.

Eh......I don't think it's cool to discourage anyone from finding Christ....in whatever way they do. Would you disagree with that?

I made no mention of you....I was talking about BluRay who was arguing over what the dude was allowed to believe. You put yourself in the same mindset....so YOU caused the authority argument over yourself. Not me.

Whether or not you mentioned me is irrelevant, we were more or less arguing the same point that you were arguing against, only that mine was worded differently.
