Yeah seems like it. A friend got "CARPE DIEM" across his back. I don't even think he knows what it means.

Tattos are permanently bad ideas on your skin that scream, "look at me".

So...get one?

I know some people who have gotten a poorly done tattoo because they got the "hookup" from a friend. Go to a reputable place damnit!

A buddy of mine at MP school about 2 months ago got a tattoo of Pukey, the Cross Fit clown, right on his asscheek.

So, there's a picture of a vomiting clown hunched over right next to a weight bench.

So we call him "Assclown".

Get it? Because there's a clown on his ass?

...

Get it?

I disagree. Few people even know I have tattoos. I have them because I genuinely like tattoos, and I take the time to plan them out and counsel with an artist before actually getting one.

Can't say my friends are doing that at the moment. Why are there always people up on their moral high ground saying that tattoos are just "look at me" brands?

I'll never understand people who get tattoos. You go through all that pain and discomfort just to have a little picture colored on your body. And then what do you do years later if you decide you don't like it? Pay more money to have it removed? Seems like a waste to me.

It doesn't seem to be my place to project meaning (or lack thereof) onto their tattoos, does it? So what if it seems dumb to you, maybe it means more to them then you may think. And if it doesn't, if it's just because it "looks cool", then I repeat, so what? It's their skin, it's not a big deal.

In all honesty, I have to agree with CBR.
Only a few of my friends actually have cool tats that carry any personal meaning to them, and the rest of them are just you're garden variety, 'hey look what I got!' kind.

Yeah, I see that now, but I still stand by what I said that just because it's in a visible place doesn't mean it's just for looks. You'd have to actually ask each individual person what that tattoo means to them. It's assuming way too much to just think that it's only for the "cool factor" without knowing more about the person.

So if a white guy getting 5 tribal tats with some japanese text tells me it is all a deep meaning should I believe them or laugh?

Christ I don't know, how many useless anecdotal situations are you going to try and come up with? From the sounds of it, you've already pre-judged the person and will laugh, so have fun with that.

You're implication is suggesting that I would also pre-judge the person? You know nothing about me then, and this conversation is pointless if you think I'm just blowing smoke up your ***, so I'll stop.

No I am not. I'm asking what would you think or if you would see it like it, you are really throwing that saint, me being a judge/jury and executioner act around to avoid a real answer...seriously it seems you may have some of these tats yourself or your favorite team lost yesterday or something...I never said I knew you or knew anything about you, it's the freaking net man. Chill, there is no need for foul language.

[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="Treflis"]My little brother had our Middle names tattooed across his right forearm and told me the reason what " It's not only because I love myself, but also you brother" =P

This is why I would get Chinese letter or something. Tell your mom- I love you Mom Tell your Wife - I love you (name).

It's more risky to have Chinese letters in Tattoo's unless you actually know Chinese, one sybol can for instance mean a entire sentence and to us who are used to ABC letters many look very similar so the risk is higher that you have a tattoo that says "Donkey crap" rather then "inspiration" as you originally intended.
