I don't see the issue, I have 16 year old friends going out with 20 year old guys, one is going out with a 24 year old and they're fine. 4 or 5 years isn't that big a gap.

It's not the 16 year old people are judging it is the 20+ year old guy, there is a line you dont cross. That's that, end of story.

absolutoly my mother is 4 years older than my dad yeah, but your mom is 30+ For instance if a 18 year old went out with a 12 year old people would call that messed up but a 36 year old man going out with a 30 year old woman is normal.
Here are the rules. Up until you are 18 there is a 1 year rule in effect. You can date girls 1 year younger than yourself as a minimum. After that then 18 is the minimum until you are about 22-23 then 20 becomes minimum. That is what I would say.ALLoY1717

in my opinion there is nothing wrong with it since there is only a 4 year age difference. but there might be some issues with the girls parents. I'd say wait till she's 18 and your 22 to start to date her.

I really don't see anything wrong with that. I don't know why so many people here are freaking out, it's not like he's 30. Sure there's a little age difference but there's nothing wrong with that, we have no say in what year we're born in.
And, contrary to popular belief, many U.S. states have an age of consent law that is UNDER 18. A few states have an age of consent law that can be as young as 14 if the age gap is very small (like two years). Of course, these laws only come into affect if they have sex, not date. Even then, wait till she's 16 and that'll be legal in many states.

Here in Canada, it's 14 for a girl, but regardless of your right to consent, a person over 18 having sex with a person under 18 can get a statatory rape charge.
