It reminds of when ipods were starting to become popular. One of my profs did a survey during lecture of who had a smartphone - about 90% of hands went up.

Smartphones are getting cheaper and more user friendly. It's pretty obvious really why they've become so popular.
Also forgot to mention that I'm still using my old Nokia X3. Flick to unlock FTW
I don't have one and I have no plan of getting one in the future. When I leave home I prefer to go without a connection to the electronic world.
I only came in this thread because of the wrong usage of grammar in the topic title.:/NiKvaso your one of those kind of people
They're cheaper, so more people are getting them. It's no different than when you think about 15 years ago when cell phones were the size of bricks and cost over a dollar a minute to use only rich people had them but today even people on welfare or are otherwise not making that much money have them.
I had one for a brief time, it was cool but not that impressive. I'm just fine with a normal phone...
[QUOTE="DevilishStyles"]I live downtown, I just don't have any friends. I'm very sorry to hear that. You just noticed this? You must not live in a crowded city then.

I don't. Why pay the money for the data plan that I won't get much use of? fastesttruckMy data web and text are free tho. and I only pay $25 a month for 300 talk minutes.
I don't. Why pay the money for the data plan that I won't get much use of? fastesttruckGah. Seriously hate that there are mandatory data plans. I live on a campus with insanely fast wifi so i cannot justify the data plan costs at all. Hate it.
I have a pantech p2020.
it's smartphone esque because it has apps and whatnot, but I just use it for phone calls and texting.
for everything else (games, music, video, internet, etc) I have this little darling.
32 GB.
[QUOTE="Parandrus"][QUOTE="3riForce"]Serraph, you carry around 2 phones? Are you some kind of crazy person?3riForcePretty sure that's just a Touch. lol yeah, my mistake. s'ok. Nearly everyone who see's me pull out both makes that mistake.
*blinks* wow, the idea of not owning a cell phone in today's world is fairly inconceivable to me. Maybe that's just because I don't have a land line anymore.I do not even have a cell phone. No need for one.
However, I am interested in buying a iPod Touch.

I would NEVER get a smartphone! The day I conform to society is the day I become genetically mutated by a snake.XiaolinPrincessI don't really like the idea of conforming either, to be honest, but it is pretty tempting. I just keep telling myself its unnecessary, Also I would feel spoiled.
