I don't have one, and I don't really see how owning one would benefit me.

[QUOTE="3riForce"][QUOTE="XiaolinPrincess"]I would NEVER get a smartphone! The day I conform to society is the day I become genetically mutated by a snake.AmazonTreeBoaI don't really like the idea of conforming either, to be honest, but it is pretty tempting. I just keep telling myself its unnecessary, Also I would feel spoiled. How is it conforming to society just because you bought something you wanted? Because everyone seems to have one.

Sometimes you have to ask yourself if refusing to do something that is popular really makes you cool or if it's just depriving yourself of something you may enjoy.

I'm not doing it to be cool, I know I would enjoy it, I just don't think its necessary right now.No, but I almost feel like becoming one of the masses now, but those phones are overpriced with bad battery life.
I don't and don't play on getting one, still have my samsung flip phone (Classic 2006 model) still works like a charm so that's good enough for me
If you turned off the GPS and some of the apps running in the back ground, you will get longer battery life.. lasts me a day and a half instead of half a day.No, but I almost feel like becoming one of the masses now, but those phones are overpriced with bad battery life.

I gots me a brick phone still, can't break them! Had it for about 10 years, I can phone people AND send texts! Yeah....
I'll get one once data service drops in price significantly. They'll be far more advanced a few years from now and yet much more mundane at the same time. I'll be glad I didn't overpay for a toy during this early phase.
[QUOTE="3riForce"][QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"] How is it conforming to society just because you bought something you wanted?AmazonTreeBoaBecause everyone seems to have one. Almost everybody has a house as well. That must be conforming to, right  HURRY......burn it down while you still can. Some of you people REALLY crack me up with they way you think. Better through your tv out as well.
Thats not the sole reason why I don't want to get one, I'm just saying that it feels bad to give up to the temptation.
Geez, you can't use the word "conform" in this board without offending someone, can you?
I don't have a phone at all, how about that? Smartphones are a great technology, though, acess to practically anything wherever you ave coverage. I remember when GPS was becoming big, and MP3 players, and e-readers, and a whole host of other things that all required you buy seperate accessories. Now you can have all that in one device, I'd buy one if I could afford it.
with the iPhone being the best phone out therefabz_95
There are a few Android phones that would like to have a word with you. I hear the new Droid blows the competition out of the water, not to mention you can buy cheaper things that function just as well depending on how you use them.
You can get one from Virgin Mobile or StraitTalk, they have some now $150.. I got mine from VB.Still can't afford one.

Used to have an iphone, it was very expensive to run. So I just went out and bought a cheap £20 Samsung phone; it makes calls/texts and I'm not pratting around on the internet anymore when I'm out...hurrah!
I have a borderline smartphone, and an itouch. I really would like to upgrade to an iphone, or something else better than the phone I've got, but with At&t's data rates...that probably won't be happening for a bit.
This poll illustrates the fact that Gamespot is different from the outside world:P On an internet forum filled w/ tech savvy users and people generally in the younger stages of their life I'd expect to see the yes total far higher.
