I dont know about you blokes but to have people say that the film Bruno is offensive, before they've seen it, before most people have seen it, to me seems premature.

No.
The reality is all comedy massly produced these days have many elements one could find offensive. I guess vulgarity sells.
It's supposed to be offensive. That's the whole friggin point.Taylor_BDon't you think theres something wrong when we start laughing at making fun of people?

I could argue that The Simpsons makes fun of all facets of American life. I don't think anyones going to criticise that show for being "mean".

If you are way to sensitive and really need to shut up and grow up then yes go ahead and call it offensive. I applaud sacha Baron Cohen for what he is doing, while borat was not as good as the ali gi show it still had moments. People really need to stop being so overly sensitive. Nobody cares if you are offended, why do you have to announce it? If you want to film to not be released and you are really offended then dont see it. Nobody is making you see it.

Oh please, comedy thrives on making fun of people and society in general. There is nothing bad about that, just look at guys like George Carlin.
[QUOTE="Taylor_B"]It's supposed to be offensive. That's the whole friggin point.EMOEVOLUTIONDon't you think theres something wrong when we start laughing at making fun of people? From what I've read (and whether you believe him or not), Sasha Baron Cohen claims he does not mock people indiscriminately, but rather targets the ignorant and the pretentious.
Wait, who are you addressing? I'm not the one who wrote the article lol.If you are way to sensitive and really need to shut up and grow up then yes go ahead and call it offensive. I'm addressing overly sensitive people in general not you. I dont get why people have to announce how offensive they find something and try to take away the enjoyment that many people will get from it just because they find something offensive. Its pathetic, its immature and I just dont understand it. Do offended people who write these kinds of articles or people who say that a movie shouldnt be released really think that we give a crap about their opinion? If a movie offends you then good im glad it did, now please kindly be offended in silence rather than be a jerk and announce it to a world that doesnt care about your BS.

I find it sad that we need to laugh at other people's misfortune for our entertainment.
[QUOTE="clembo1990"]I hope it is incredibly offensive. It makes it even better.clyde46After seeing the trailers I do like the way American's overact to it. Yeah, that's the appeal of it for me. Sacha picks on the Americans quite a bit. But those individuals bring it upon themselves to be fair.
[QUOTE="Taylor_B"]It's supposed to be offensive. That's the whole friggin point.EMOEVOLUTIONDon't you think theres something wrong when we start laughing at making fun of people? No, I think theres something wrong with political correctness gone mad. especially since White People seem to be the centre of this aggro all the time.

Borat was one of the funnies films I've ever seen and from the trailer, Bruno looks just as funny.

I find it sad that you think people shouldnt laugh at others misfortune. Anything can be funny in the right context, you just have to have a open sense of humor. What so bad about laughing at others? I have heard some awfully insensitive jokes like Michael Jackson jokes, 9/11 jokes, holocaust jokes, you name it. I dont like them alot of the time, but I dont think people shouldnt make them. Some people also cope with tragedy with humor.
It was on the news that some homosexuals here in Australia found it offensive and wanted it banned before they've actually seen it lol!BTW, exactly what group of people is the movie supposed to be offensive to?

BINGO! You really think people are going to go to a movie for laughs, then say "Oh my, that bloke is demeaning _____s!" As long as tickets are sold and people find it funny, it doesn't matter who the casualties are : /No.
