I get my hair styled all the time and cut by a guy I know. He is an open bisexual person but I see nothing wrong with it but some people think that because I style my hair I'm less manly...
I hate messy mangy hair, why not give it some flair.
Any guys here sty le their hair or are you guys all just pure manly greek barber people. Toriko42
I never styIe my hair. Even when I need a haircut, I just pull it out with my muscles.

LOL!Seriously though, if you like having your hair st yled that's cool, it's not less manly, as others have said it's just taking some pride in your appearance. Personally i simply shave my head or let it grow long, changes every few years depending on what i fell like, long hair or short. I used to styl e it back in high school just like everyone else, but then i got sick of it and grew it out and got dreads, but even those have become a form of hair styling nowadays with the prevalence of dread extensions and the weak arse manufactured dreads they sell you at overpriced salons.
One thing that seems less manly about guys styling their hair these days is the whole 'metrosexual look', this is just weird, they look gay but they're not, they're testorene fueled, heterosexual tough guys, who just look like that to impress the ladies (how looking gay impresses women is beyond me). Just don't do this and you can still be 'manly', lol!

Not at all, none of my friends think that guys that style their hair is unmanly or unattractive, just because they styled their hair. It really depends on what way youre actually styling it. If you had pink ponytails and the rest of your scalp was buzzcut, i probably wouldnt find it very manly no :P

Depends how much attention you pay to it. I've had friends that just slide their hand through with gel, and others that stand in front of every reflection like idiots fiddling with it non-stop even though nothing about it changed over a period of hours.
I straighten mine daily, so if it's unmanly to style it, then slap me on a dress and call me Lucy ;)ferron321hello Lucy
yes, it is unmanly to get primped like a little girl, to buy "product" and apply daily, to get "styled" like a fashion model...no really i just shave all mine off.tocklestein2005That must make you five or maybe even six times more manly than me.
Traditionally men were not concerned with outward appearance because they were busy working/contributing to society/culture. Women were the people that focused on appearance such that they could attract a man, which was (is) their primary purpose.
So yes, I would say it is "unmanly", not to say that it isn't socially acceptable in your society.
