I don't see how it matters. It's your hair, do what you want with it.

I personally don't do it, because I think it takes too much effort.

Not at all. I was actually just trying to think of something new to do with mine. I'll probably just get it cut a lot shorter, for the time being.

No it's not. I used to think so, but I realized that belief is ignorant. Technically, even a haircut could be considered 'styling'.

Depends on the style I guess, sometimes I slick my hair back and tie it in a ponytail. But most of the times I leave it the way it is.

styyling your hair amoung other things like wearing nice clothes, shows people that you care about what you look like, and take pride id looking nice.. it means you have self confidence and self respect. what you look like and how you present yourself tell people a lot about you. on the other hand people that leave their hair messy, and wear crappy clothes, be it t shirts that are too big, baggy pants.. and non matching clothes, make ppl think you dont care about your appearance and are an overall messy and lazy person who just dosn't care.

I always keep my hair too short to actually style it, but I wouldn't say styling hair makes you unmanly. If anything a guy who styles his hair right attracts the ladies, therefore he gets some action which would make him MANLY if anything.

LOL!

Seriously though, if you like having your hair st yled that's cool, it's not less manly, as others have said it's just taking some pride in your appearance. Personally i simply shave my head or let it grow long, changes every few years depending on what i fell like, long hair or short. I used to styl e it back in high school just like everyone else, but then i got sick of it and grew it out and got dreads, but even those have become a form of hair styling nowadays with the prevalence of dread extensions and the weak arse manufactured dreads they sell you at overpriced salons.

One thing that seems less manly about guys styling their hair these days is the whole 'metrosexual look', this is just weird, they look gay but they're not, they're testorene fueled, heterosexual tough guys, who just look like that to impress the ladies (how looking gay impresses women is beyond me). Just don't do this and you can still be 'manly', lol!

Not at all, none of my friends think that guys that style their hair is unmanly or unattractive, just because they styled their hair. It really depends on what way youre actually styling it. If you had pink ponytails and the rest of your scalp was buzzcut, i probably wouldnt find it very manly no :P

I honestly have better things to do than look at the hair of every guy I see and determine how manly they based on what its like. Unless the hair is gonna come to life, leap off their head and strangle me, I dont really have a problem.

Aww, that's just my luck. =(

Depends how much attention you pay to it. I've had friends that just slide their hand through with gel, and others that stand in front of every reflection like idiots fiddling with it non-stop even though nothing about it changed over a period of hours.

Depends what you define as "manly". The stereotypical manly guy, would not go to a salon to have his hair cut. He wouldn't get his body hair waxed and wouldn't get a manicure either. It's not that those things are wrong, it's just they don't fall into the category of "manly" things to do.

Why would it be? Personally I can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to style my hair as I always get mine cut the same way, short at the side and slightly longer on top. Not much to style.

Traditionally men were not concerned with outward appearance because they were busy working/contributing to society/culture. Women were the people that focused on appearance such that they could attract a man, which was (is) their primary purpose.

So yes, I would say it is "unmanly", not to say that it isn't socially acceptable in your society.
