Dude, you cannot be serious, Nietzsche thought that mankind should become the ubermensch follow their own path and not the nihilistic concept of God, and thus we can create our own morality?

Do you even know he Nietzsche is, because from that post you clearly don't.

Do I know who Nietzsche is‽ Not mankind... only some of mankind. The overman would not be the overman if everyone became it; it would lose its meaning. And you cannot create your own morality if morality is innate.

I don't know why we're all getting hung up about a word; perhaps I've been using the wrong word. All I'm arguing is that morality can exist without God.

Tell me how that is anti-Nietzschean?

[QUOTE="CptJSparrow"]I am baffled as to how someone sporting a Nietzsche quote in their signature believes morality is innate.Theokhoth

Considering that it's the "God is dead" quote, he probably just liked it and thought it a good testament to atheism, then put it in the signature without any look at the context or meaning of Nietzsche's quote.

It's a cool quote, too, if you know what he means.

I'll explain the quote to you.

Nietzsche believes that concept of God is nihilistic, that people attribute their purpose in life soley to God, the quote is actually used in the context of the ramblings of a mad man; he is hysteric about the death of God because he believes that means his existence is worthless.

Thus the quote is used to criticise those that put all their meaning in God; which Nietzsche believes to be nihilstic.

That's just brief BTW.

I think HE said he gets mad...in the bible...correct? Oh, but, can you provide a link to his mind that proves that "robots are not what he wanted", as you so clearly and absolutely stated?

We either got here through God, or through evolution. They're mutually exclusive. Unless you want to reconcile them? Funky_Llama

"Mutually exclusive"? Is this LJ's atheist alt account?

So that's what you've been doing LJ! That's why you made all that noise about Llama being my alt account, so that no one would suspect it was you all along! Oh, you crafty devil...

You have some accounts that claim to be atheist, and some accounts that claim to be christian, so that you can log in on multiple computers and argue with yourself, huh?

EXACTLY!

If he really was LJ, then why would he just willingly give away all this information? Simple: He wants us to believe they are the same person, so that they can continue, uninterrupted, to take over the Internet!

Not that god made us actual robots, but could have decided that he wanted our brains to operate in a certain manner. Prove that god didn't want us to operate in a pre-determined manner...if you can.

EDIT: I noticed you ignored my point about god saying that he gets angry in the bible. Did you ignore that because I proved you wrong?

You may think God is wrong, you may disagree with Him, but that isn't possible because God is Perfect. We humans are not perfect, we can't do the things God can, and as a result, we cannot understand some of the things that God does. It may very well be that the problem of evil is absolutely necessary to carry on the best plan that God has for all of us.

A God being perfect doesn't mean the God believes humans are perfect however...so the assumption of stating that is flawed. And to be on point...that wasn't what the original post was arguing anyway. Thus there can be no contradiction as the two posts are about two entirely different things....:|

Humans ARE like robots. In fact there is no shred of proof that we have free will of any kind. We are physical systems and as such we are also governed by physical laws. Our actions are confined to our brain and the choices we have are extremely limited by the physical environment (gravity for example), economics and by man-made laws and norms. Free will is just an illusion in my opinion.
