Am I the only one?
Being born into a disciplined family I was taught to be selfless, humble and non-egocentric.
In contrast, most of todays young view themselfs as self-important "superstars" via their own personal webspace.
Does anyone else see society becoming more and more self-absorbed with all this virtual vainness?

Yet, by using a public forum to criticize people who socialize via "this virtual vainness" that is Facebook, Twitter, etc. and insinuating that they are viewing themselves as "self-important superstars" and are "self-absorbed" individuals, you're doing just that.
If you'd be as "selfless, humble and non-egocentric" as you apparently think you are, it wouldn't be too difficult to accept that everybody has their reasons to do whatever they do and that their actions are not necessarily the result of some flawed logic just because they are contradictory to your own beliefs.
