Let's talk presents: What did you get?

I got a 3TB external hard drive, music festival tickets, The Dark Knight Rises dvd (which I haven't seen yet, so I'm excited), Black Swan blu-ray,The Sly Collection PS3, Lumines for Vita, earbud headphones, and the 3rd season of Parks and Recreation.

Lumines is so addicting. Do NOT play it right before you go to bed. When you close your eyes you'll see the damn blocks moving.

Not sure what I got yet - we haven't started - but I bought my wife some jewelry and makeup this year. We don't have kids yet, but we have a ton of nieces, nephews and siblings to that we spent the bulk of our budget on.

I didn't want anything this year - aside from the 92" HDTV my wife got me for my birthday in September - because I pretty much have everything I need and want. There's some stuff I need to buy for my business, but that's business (green screen kit, semi-pro hi-def camera and some other stuff).

Both, actually. I need the right equipment to make professional-quality videos for the tutorials, bootcamps and books I'm working on.

Currently, I have a Hi-Def Logitech webcam, a self-made green screen and Adobe Suite CS6 (which is great and irreplaceable IMO). While this is alright for the work I do on Webex, it's hardly what I hope to publish with. I haven't really done the reasearch on what camera I'll buy, but I'm guessing I'll be spendig around $5k to get that move-like effect that I'm aiming for.

Thanks - I'll have to do some research on it. I really need something that I can film at resolutions up to 1080p with the ability to perform well with different lighting. I don't mind spending money on something that's worth it, considering the intention is to be professional and suitable for publication.

I'm in Afghanistan, the Afghan internet providers blocked it over here after that Innocence of Muslims video got out.

The work computers are satellite based and show your IP as being in the US but it was blocked to save bandwidth until just recently. Google is locked to strict Safesearch on our network and that lock extends to Youtube.
