 Did he really call Nas and Andre 3000 "less known"?II-FBIsniper-II

Well it is true...ask a high schooler how many NaS songs do you know? they will probably say one or maybe two...Andre 3000...none most likely, unless they are like me and into the underground and old school stuff that is great. Or like people like Lupe...and I guess Nas :p

Much of what you underlined is simple slang, it does make sense. It's not even hard to decipher, try looking a little harder.

When he's focused he can butcher your favorite rappers and that's why Jay-Z passed him the torch.

You guys who hate him, I'm sorry but this is the re-birh of his career, its wayne - era. You better hide in a cave. When its all said and done he could be a legend. Bookmark it.

I'm sure you feel cool because you listen to less known artists. Go ahead and assume that I haven't listened to any of the artist you listed. You think that for some reason you opinion is better than mine. I'm not ignorant, I don't listen to rap just because its cool. I listen to it because I like it.

LOL

If you don't notice I have less posts than you so that isn't true...so your logic fails. I know all the slang and he is still crap, I mentioned how some of the htings underlined do make sense, but they are just terrible metaphors/similies/wordplay and so on...also Jay Z is garbage now anyways. Nas>>>Jay Z, then and now. I'll take some songs of his that people like, for example 3 Peat or Lollipop and show that it's bad.

Do you think I really care whether my spelling is correct on an internet forum. All im saying is that Lil Wayne is garbage just like mainly all other rappers out today. Also its not you're. You're is used when your talking about someone's personal things. Its the possesive form.

 We know what he's saying, we aren't dumb. What we are trying to tell you is that most of his lyrics are dumb, made up to sound witty, and rudimentary. I'll admit, he says funny things at times but that's where it ends; alot his lyrics fail delve any deeper into what Hip-Hop is truly supposed to be about. Long story short, Wayne is a complete sellout who's not even in my top 10. What I say is anyone who says they fully understand what Wayne is talking about is either A.) A jock-hopping bandwagon fan B.) Hasn't listened to too many truly talented artists or C.) are high on some of the strongest ish and needs to pass it over here. :P

That's the problem, when he's focused. Half the collabos that Lil' Wayne did, it was pure laziness. Take Barry Bond's from Kanye West, Hello Brooklyn from Jay-Z. If he worked harder on his craft, then I might feel it. But this is coming from the same people who thinks that Soulja Boy is the Messiah of Rap, not knowing that he based his whole career off a dance, and we all know what happend the guys who made Macarena, the Humpty Dance.

listen to Fly in off of the carter 2.I personally think it is one of the best wayne songs and rap songs made period.even as a hater you must see some skill in this songstupid

"Yeah, I'm eatin but I gota tapeworm in my tummy" clever, but overall Wayne is still very average to me, overated, and fake.

this is another thing that turned me off.

But yeah, I lisened to the song, its ok, but 1 song? Nice, I will admit, but I still cant...feel it.

great now listen to tha mobb off the same album

Wayne voice is punishment to my ears, i'm suprised that I actually listen to Fly In.

And a said he had a couple of good lines, but so does every other rapper...

Most Wayne fans are bandwagoners that don't even know how to judge how good a rapper is, So they take other peoples opinions of him as their own. Let me guess you think Kanye is a great "rapper" too?

no i know he is a great artist. He is an above average rapper as well. lil wayne is also above average but has been on a downward spiral as of lately.

Please don't call any of these individuals "artists". It is a rather big insult to those who truly do make art. Beethoven was an artis, kanye just figured out how to play with garage band and signs deals with daft punk.

You guys who hate him, I'm sorry but this is the re-birh of his career, its wayne - era. You better hide in a cave. When its all said and done he could be a legend. Bookmark it.

hiphops_savior

That's the problem, when he's focused. Half the collabos that Lil' Wayne did, it was pure laziness. Take Barry Bond's from Kanye West, Hello Brooklyn from Jay-Z. If he worked harder on his craft, then I might feel it. But this is coming from the same people who thinks that Soulja Boy is the Messiah of Rap, not knowing that he based his whole career off a dance, and we all know what happend the guys who made Macarena, the Humpty Dance.

I completely agree about the collabo's. It seems he only get's serious when on a track with rapper's better or as good as him or feels he has to prove something and ESPECIALLY on mixtapes. He's not very consistent but when he delivers its amazing.

Soulja boy is swine.

It's "you're" and it's "lyricist" not whatever you conjured. Try again at your own risk.

Do you think I really care whether my spelling is correct on an internet forum. All im saying is that Lil Wayne is garbage just like mainly all other rappers out today. Also its not you're. You're is used when your talking about someone's personal things. Its the possesive form.

He's right about you're ya know...should be "you are very intellectual.

Who? Me or him?

airg, you were wrong. It is in fact "You're", a contraction of You are...

Sorry, I didn't know this was grammar school.. so what if he can't spell worth a crap, its the Internet. And trust me his spelling could have been a whole lot worse. At least you understand what he's saying.

But I agree a lot of the Hip-hop/rap, is so materialistic that it's not about the music. It's about how many times you can bang in a week, hookers, gold chains, cars and-- shoes. There is no depth and it's usually the same beat over and over again, or at least it sounds that way to me. Both musically and lyrically it sounds horrible to me so I don't listen to it. The only rap I do like to listen to is Christian Hip/Hop but if your not religious, well then you won't like that.

Please don't call any of these individuals "artists". It is a rather big insult to those who truly do make art. Beethoven was an artis, kanye just figured out how to play with garage band and signs deals with daft punk.

Artist - "a person whose creative work shows sensitivity and imagination"

How about no?

listen to Fly in off of the carter 2.I personally think it is one of the best wayne songs and rap songs made period.even as a hater you must see some skill in this songsuperheromonkey

No he can press buttons fairly well...only reason why he is featured in EVERY song is because now he is the only good DJ rather than Preemo, who will only use his skills for GREAT artists/rappers like Nas and Guru...RIP J Dlla.

*Notices no one is listening to him though he pwns*

No he isn't Lollipop is actually a good song.nVidiaGaMer
Yeah, but he barely raps in that song. It's mostly singing.

@OT: I agree 5347289432432% with you. I actually hate Lil Wayne and his songs, except for Lollipop, which I liked for a week.

I listened to a few of J Dilla's tracks (because he's one of my cousins' favorite artists) but I wasn't really feeling him. It is sad that he died though especially at such a young age.

Only mainstream hip hop is extremely materialistic. Great rappers though can do both: Materialistic and non-materialistic. NaS, Lupe, Kanye, Lil Wayne and some others.

Ah, okay. Sorry, it just gets on my nerves when people tend to make a few spelling mistakes (or a lot) the end of the world. But yeah, I missed him claiming it was right, sorry.
