Lol!One of the disqualified badminton players has quit.

super600

The thing is, in China - and I assume Korea - it seems the governing body has complete control over which matches they win or lose. The players regard it not so much as a game rather as a job. She was probably a little miffed that the blame is falling on her when she was merely following orders.

Regardless, that game was ridiculous. I could have beaten them.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that the Chinese Olympians can't even write their name on a piece of paper. Their win at all costs method gets them a bunch of medals in a bunch of sports nobody cares to watch, but it's sort of disgusting how important this is to them.

But there still Olympic sports everyone's just jealous there at the top of the boards that's why the audience always cheers for the side that China is playing.

Nobody besides you really cares who is at the top of the boards. I certainly don't care that China wins half their medals in diving and drives their athletes in to the ground in the process.

Sounds like you do by saying " sports nobody cares to watch " bet you would not be saying that if your country won a gold in a sport that no one watches.

The Chinese like usual are coming off as insecure and have this need to win at ALL and ANY cost. While I commend their athleticism, they seem completely devoid of any joy for the sport.

But I love me some Ye :P

Incredibly awesome, especially when you consider the hardship she went through after being sexually abused by her previous coach and contemplating suicide. Plus, she is a Celtics fan and was freaking out when she met Doc Rivers after winning, so this girl is pretty amazing.

Now lets hope the Track and field guys can reel it in.

So far its been a pretty middle class Olympics, Volley ball, sailing, cayaking?, double tap shooting, hockey, badmintgton

and like 15 different types of Cycling :?

Indeed it was pretty sweet stuff and well deserved although I especially loved that super quick arm bar victory she had from a few rounds earlier which was impressive. It's a shame about that Celtic stuff though. :P

asdf

Also congrats to the team from spooooky Latvia who quietly have been shocking fans by defeating all the highly ranked teams put before them.

More exciting dominance:oops: from the Italian women in foil as having swept the individual competition went on and claimed the gold in the team competition with Russia getting the silver and South Korea claiming the bronze. Somewhat anxious for Friday's team epee competition as it will give A-lan Shin another shot at a medal after refusing to take a consolation medal from the International Fencing Federation for that bit of confusion in the individual competition.

Yeah I can understand that as I do believe they are the only country in the modern era that hosted the summer Olympics without getting even a single gold. I suppose it's kind of sad but honestly I always get so wrapped up in the massive victories of little countries managing to score even a bronze that I sometimes forget about the overall count from the major participants.
