What Walt is capable of.

What other questions do people want answered?bmanincI guess why Walt was visiting people after season 1. Mean he wasnt dead because we saw him alive off the island in season 5. I guess he was just hallucinations. I dont think this will be answered. But I am okay with it being hallucinations
What other questions do people want answered?bmanincHow was the Island created? Who was the 1st actual person to step on the island? What is inside the light? Can the Smoke Monster be killed? What's the point of the statue? Can the Smoke Monster be dangerous off the island?
I'm surprised how many people it seems like are watching this show with a checklist of "Questions that MUST be answered (or the show now sucks)"xaosI don't think anyone is saying that. Some are wanting answers to events that have yet to be explained - and would have changed the show if said event wouldn't have happened (e.g. food dropping).
This maybe be nothing but I'm rewatching lost season 1 and in episode 2 Walt is reading this comic and said it was in spanish and that he found it so who's comic was this?

I realize it's all we have, that doesn't mean I have to "buy it."
I'm not mad. It wasn't a huge question I was wanting answered. I'm just saying it was an idiotic explanation.
I'm not sure how that's any sillier than "Well there's a yellow light in the middle of the island and it's magic"
Well what exactly did you expect? An island that was moving through time. An island that had a smoke monster on it. An island that had a hatch with a computer in which you typed in the same numbers every 108 minutes. Not trying to sound rude. But Lost has had some random things through out the the six seasons. Well, for me, it's not that. If anyone hasn't accepted the whole sci-fi/supernatural aspect of LOST, then they shouldn't be watching. It's that the "magic light under the island gives you magic" explanation seems like a poor, half-assed answer to come up with. Of course, this could change with the finale.."Don't tell me what I can't do!" "What if...everything, that happened here....happened for a reason?" "What if I told you I was the person who could answer the most important question in the world?" All by John Locke, although the last one is Flocke. Also, my fav conversation has to be with Locke and Richard. Richard Alpert: Next time we see each other, I'm not going to recognize you, alright? You give me this. Alright? John Locke: What is it? Richard Alpert: It's a compass. John Locke: What does it do? Richard Alpert: It points North, John. Locke looked so clueless.Favorite quotes people?

Hurley's. It has to be. He was reading a comic on the flight, and he speaks spanish.
Half-assed as in that's all they present us with, and give us little detail with it. Like I said before, the finale could change this. Right now, I feel that the answer they gave us was pretty much awful.I still dont see how its "half-assed." :? Mean what should it be? And "magic" come on now.

If the light is magic, then you can pretty much call LOST a fantasy show :P And the light doesn't give you...."magic". :| Not talking about you Swanogt.I still dont see how its "half-assed." :? Mean what should it be? And "magic" come on now.

It was Hurley. I agree with you, MrGeezer. Ben is figuring our how torid the island of this monster. Sure, there was a little extra bonus to killing Widmore, but it's all a part of a plan. I'm sure he'll communicate with Miles and Richard and c4 will come into play.Travo_basic
Perhaps the C4 will be used to destroy the light, thus killing off Flocke's power source? That would kind of explain why the island was shown underwater in LAX but at the same time, contradicts the whole "if the light goes out here, it goes out everywhere" thing.... I dunno.... But who knows-- maybe Flocke DOES destroy the island by sinking it

Right now, I feel that the answer they gave us was pretty much awful. That I understand. Though this is Lost. Most of the answers through out the seasons have been "half-assed." Well, that isn't quite what I'm talking about. LOST has always been a show where characters never seem to ask important questions, only to drag them out over a long period of time.
What I'm referring to is why the writers didn't choose to get the mother to expand upon what this "light" is. They just throw in this mother (whom we never really understand any of her motives) and write a situation where she just shows her two "kids" the light. That's it? Give us more detail than that.
Either way, this could change with the finale.
EDIT: Also, how did the MiB discover this wheel? Because he is special? I thought that was a messy explanation, too. I don't want to go into that, though. :P

I felt the same at first. The mother's explaination that it is "worse than death" doesnt help. I dont think it will be explain(could be wrong). However I never felt that the writers gave us much details often. The producers have said that people's opinions of Across the Sea will change after the finale.bmanincSeeing how much of a mess I think it is (the way it was presented, the child actors, pacing, etc.), I doubt it. It could change some of my feelings about the answers they give us, though. The producers have been known to say some absurd things.
Sawyer: If we don't play ping-pong every 108 minutes, the island'll explode! Also, SAWYER: So, when you pulled us out of those polar bear cages and put us on the chain gang, what the hell you have us breaking all those rocks for anyway? JULIET: We were building a runway. SAWYER: Runway, for what? JULIET: [Turns to him] The aliens. [She smirks] JULIET: I don't know what for, do you think they told me everything?Another one:
Sawyer: What's your problem, Jumbotron?
solidruss
Hurley: Shut up, Red...neck...man!
Sawyer: Touché.

It's not "magic" any more than anything else in the show. The "magic cave of light" is simply the exact same electromagnetic energy that the characters have been talking about for the entire series.

I have a feeling we are all going to be extremely happy with the finale, or extremely disappointed...Same_Jeans_On
Well they've gone 5 for 5 when it comes to absolutely spectacular finales, so I see no reason why the series finale wont be incredible. I already expect to have much of the mystery of the island answered, but I'm more concerned with all the characters getting a satisfying closure than anything. I don't mind not knowing how the light was created, or the full history of the island, or who was on it before Jacob, MiB, and their mom.
I must say though, this last episode has done an amazing job of setting things up for an absolutely epic finale. I can't wait, though admittedly I can since I don't want it to end .

Correction; they've been 4 for 5.
:P
A lot of people are going to be disappointed no matter what, solely for the reason that it is the final episode.
Brings back memories... Just to think this time next week it'll all be over. I'll no longer look forward to a new episode each week. Oh well I guess I'll start watching it all over again. Unless the Finale is really terrible that is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRBVOgFTbuA

Yeah I've been thinking the same, that it is going to be hard to wrap the whole thing up in one episode. Even if it is 2 and a half hours long.how the hell are they gonna wrap it all up with one more ep?
where do we go from here?, been a lost fan since ep 1 season 1

Let me understand this right.
There will be the series finale of Lost airing. It's going to be on Sunday. And the episode is going to be 2-and-a-half hours? That is to say, combining two episodes?
Why did they change the timeslot?

[QUOTE="bmaninc"]My full theory: The 3 concerts (Miles, Jack, Desmond) are all the same. This would presumably place Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Miles, Widmore, Charlie, Eloise, Charlotte, Jack, Juliet (ex wife), Desmond, Daniel, and Hurley in the same place. Perhaps Claire as well. I think that the alternate timelime is actually the epilogue of the entire story. The happy ending, so to speak. Locke would be able to walk, Linus would have Alex and perhaps Rousseau, Jack has a happy relationship with his son, Hurley is lucky, etc. I also think the point of the Alex scene in What They Died For was to sort of remind us about Miles' powers regarding the dead. This would set up a return for Miles to the barracks where he would receive information from Widmore. In the episode, Ben went with the MIB because he was promised the island to himself after the MIB leaves the island. Yet, at the end of the episode, the MIB says, in front of Ben, that hes going to destroy the island. This would leave Ben with the task of stopping him, so a potential double cross is in the works.MrGeezer
I think that Ben was double-crossing MiB all along. Yes, even when he killed Widmore. Despite the fact that Ben has a VERY good reason for wanting to kill Widmore, I don't think that's why he actually did it. I think he did it in order to keep Widmore from gving Locke any information. And Locke wouldn't suspect anything, because prior to season 6 that's exactly how Ben acted (see: when he killed Keamy).
He stayed behind to ally himself with Locke, in order to betray Locke. Listen to when he says, "I just didn't realize that the monster was summoning me". Remember how hard Ben took it when he felt that Jacob had cast him aside?
Ben doesn't want the island all to himself. Why would he? Do you remember how pointless he felt his existance was after finding out that he was deceived by Jacob and then tricked into killing him? Do you remember when he gave up the promise of power in order to side with the woman who was trying to kill him? Do you remember when he said that the only reason he was going to join Locke was because "no one else will have me"? So why would he suddenly turn evil now, when the monster who led him astray offers him ownership of a lonely ass island in which just about everyone is now dead?
I guarantee you...Ben is doing his same old treachery. The only difference is that we're led to believe that he's betrayed "the good guys". While in actuality, he's still on the side of "the good guys". He's just getting closer to Locke so that he can be in a better position to stab Locke in the back.
It's been 6 seasons. Ben is on Ben's side. Good and evil are just words thrown around by those in control. It's really not much of a shocker what Ben does anymore, even killing Widmore.
Also, why is everyone convinced that Jack's wife is going to be Juliet? It's obviously Kate, since they're going to be together!
... more to the point, was David introduced prior to season 6 or is he strictly part of the alternate timeline? Oh and remember Jack was married to some other woman before so...
Uh, no. Kate and Jack were both on the flight 815...Even in the alternate story. Pretty sure that one of them would have at least made note of this considering Kate was being escorted by a US Marshal. Then there's also the matter that David lives with his mother...Kate is a fugitive...Also, why is everyone convinced that Jack's wife is going to be Juliet? It's obviously Kate, since they're going to be together!
