Vader was the strongest. He had the most power, and with great power comes great responsibility. the_foreign_guyWell, hey there. =3

In all technicality, Windu COULDN'T be defeated by Sidious or maybe even Anakin in a straight fight. If you know your stuff, you'll know what I mean.auron_16I think Windu could have been easily defeated by Sidious. He was just holding back until Anikan showed up.

What Vapaad does is detect the weaknesses of his enemies, and he therefore exploits them. That, in combination with the fact that it is constantly hinted in the expanded universe that Windu was the greatest swordsman would ensure his victory. That's just me though :)

Vader pre-mutilation>Mace Windu(although Windu was better with the lightsaber)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vader>Luke
Guppy507
We don't know that. He didn't fight Mace Windu. He cut off his hand by surprise. Mace Windu was supposed to be the 2nd most powerful Jedi.
True enough. More or less why it's only one ">", because it's real minimal difference. Windu was arguably the best lightsaber wielder at full power, at least in that era. Anakin didn't have as much of a control over the Force at the time, although his exposure to the dark side of the force surely beefed up his ability, even if it did blind his ability to reason.

Sidious was never the best with lightsabers, his force-abilities were his strengths.
I was not that impressed with Luke's jedi skills. -Sun_Tzu-
Yeah, Vader pretty much handed Luke's ass to him on a platter. The only reason Luke wasn't killed in the first five seconds of their fight was because Vader wanted his son to join him.

Those were probably Palpatine orders to lure Anakin to the dark side by making him vengeful and angry.dragon7x2k
That wouldn't make any sense, though. It had already been proven that Dooku was more powerful than Anakin and was more than capable of defending against Yoda.
Palpatine is the best here, why? He over threw the Republic, wiped out the jedi, started a war that he was guranteed to win (when both sides are your lapdogs, you can't lose), and is all round pure awesome.

But Anakin had great potential, jedis even though he could possibly be the chosen one who would bring balance to the force.vader killed palpatine, and palpatine killed vader, in that sense, theyre equalPalpatine is the best here, why? lordreaven
BUT, considering that all palpatine did was plot and scheme (defeated by Windu, but VADER saved him), and vader was the one who did all the dirty work. I'd say
vader > palpatine
and he lost the war
So how strong is yoda?Bloodseeker23seems to be either the best or 2nd best (to palpatine) when it comes to force powers and I don't think he's ever actually been defeated in a lightsaber duel, though he didn't defeat dooku or palpatine
Luke > Vader. Here is why:
Luke = Mark Hamill = Corvette Summer.
Darth Vader = Sebastian Shaw + David Prowse + James Earl Jones.
It took three actors to equal Mark Hamill and he got to drive a groovy corvette and screw around with Annie Potts. I think we can do the math.
Count Dooku is easily the most inconsistent character in all of Star Wars. He totally whips Anakin's ASSscorch-62And how!
Meh. A fat load of EU material has already very well established Luke as the crazy frak who was miles above Vader.
*awaits to be pointed to a silly miscomprehension of EU canon standing*
obi wan is the best because, he kept all his limbs. i dont know why he evaporated tho.hamheroBecause he became one with the force, same as Yoda.
[QUOTE="DarkGamer007"]Same thing, besides, those things show more potential than actual skill at using the force.I'm going to pretend that midihcloreans don't exist and that they were never part of the Star Wars universe or continuity.
dragon7x2k
I think you are missing the point of midihcloreans. They are to show the potential power of the Skywalker family, that's how Anakin, Luke could even become jedi. For example, if Obi Wan had started training at 9 years old, he would never have become a jedi, as he wouldn't be powerful enough to catch up
According to the EU, Luke is way more powerful by the time they reach the same relative age. Of course, the EU also states that Vader couldn't reach his full potential and become a true Sith Lord because he was no longer fully (or even mostly) organic.
vader isnt converted. vader is the apprentice and all apprentices eventually kill their masters to become the master of the sith themselves. thats is all vader was doing. hamheroNo. Vader killed Palpatine to save Luke. There is no indication he was making a power grab.
Vader > Luke because Vader actually fulfilled the prophecy like he was supposed to by beating The Emperor, who beat Mace Windu and Yoda (and would've beaten Luke).scorch-62That brings up a really good question that i never really pondered when i saw the movie. When Windu is fighting Palpatine and has him on the ropes, is Palpatine really just covertly submitting on purpose to give Anakin the chance to do what he ends up doing or is Windu actually winning the fight legit?

I've always assumed the former, considering Palpatine had an outrageous power trip once Anakin did something.

Which would explain why Obi Wan beat Anakin.
