Vadar owned Luke in every fight and once he saw Luke using his anger to fight him he let him win. Unfortunately the emperor didnt foresee Anakin still having any humanity left in him.

Palpatine is the best here, why? He over threw the Republic, wiped out the jedi, started a war that he was guranteed to win (when both sides are your lapdogs, you can't lose), and is all round pure awesome.
vader killed palpatine, and palpatine killed vader, in that sense, theyre equalBUT, considering that all palpatine did was plot and scheme (defeated by Windu, but VADER saved him), and vader was the one who did all the dirty work. I'd say
vader > palpatine
and he lost the war
No, Palps let windu win so he would get sympathy with Anakin, and Vader was the only one of teh too who would be able to walk into the temple without being noticed. And Palpatine only lost the Galatic Civil war due to Ewoks....................[QUOTE="lordreaven"]

Because of budget constraints:P
I'm watching Star Wars this week, in fact I only have Episode III left to see... I always start with Episode IV.

So the midgets and the children get half the pay of a full actor? Is that what you're suggesting? =PI'm sure child actors were paid even less than half:P
But the funny thing is that ewoks were really supposed to be wookies, Lucas confirmed it in the Revenge of the Sith DVD commentary. The suits and set designs would've been too expensive and hard to work with.
Also, I don't think that Kashyyyk would have made a good place to put a top-secret superweapon.PannicAtackWhy not? The Wookies were enslaved and Kashyyyk is a ridiculously thick forest. They could have easily put the second Death Star's shield generator there.

You're not going to be able to hide that next to a world that has slavers and safaris on a regular basis if you want it to remain a secret.
I don't know where everyone is getting their information from... but Luke was more powerful than Vader because he was the child of a Force sensitive person and a Jedi (at least I think Padme was Force sensitive). Him being the child of a Jedi increases his power exponentially, especially when considering his father was the most powerful Jedi up until that point to ever be seen (retcons suck, midichlorians suck).
Vader could crush a man's neck from far away. Luke could move moons. 'Nuff ****ing said.

Ideally, slavers would hardly be concerned with what the Empire was doing, considering that half of their work had already been done for them. And safaris by whom? If they're going to go on safari on an Empire-controlled world where the dominant species was being held captive( or used for salve labor, killed as game, etc), would they really have any anti-Imperial intentions of going to Kashyyyk in the first place?
If you're talking movie wise yes.
But as far as the Star Wars Extended Universe goes he is like God Incarnated
Kiuk
Yeah, Luke is essentially Space Jesus in the EU. Just some of his powers in the EU, taken from Wookiepedia:
No other Jedi or even Sith comes close to that level of brokeness.
