[[QUOTE="UrbanSpartan125"] The Ak-47 is crap, its innacurate, and that is what matters in a gun fight. The Ak-47 round is bigger but slower than the M16 round, it has more stopping power but it is less accurate. The M16 is reliable, efficient and gets the job done with accuracy. New weapons that are in testing by US Special Forces, such as the SCAR, have proven to be very reliable. And the M468 is nearly the same thing as the M4 except with a bigger round with more stopping power, without losing accuracy.

muppet1010

so how is the AK-47 crap?... you've just gone and said yourself its got more stopping power too...

My guess.....he said it's inaccurate and that's what matters. He also said it's slower. That would be my guess anyway as to why he said that...

I saw a program on TV that compared these two weapons. And based on what they said (about everything the TC said) i think the M16 is better.

yeah I know he said that

but I could be just as ignorrant as him by saying "the m16 is crap because it breaks down and isnt as powerful as the AK and stuff..."

M16-

good-higher velocity, lighter, acurate, silancer

bad- expense, needs cleaning

AF47

good-durable, has good stoping power, cheap

Bad- heavy, inacurate, slow round speed, high recoil

I would consider the AK47 a group weapon. if u can get more that 2, then it can be deadly.

the next generation of weapon will fix the M16 problems like the M8, SCAR, ect.

The M16A2 is the most powerful kind of assault rifle ever made, and my personal favorite.

Give me an M16A2 any day over an AK-47. Maybe it's just that I love America, but I find the M16 much more my kind of weapon than an AK (and I did fire both of them in real life).

They both have their advantages and disadvantages. Also with AK's much of it depends on where they come from NEVER get an AK made in the Middle East as theya re poorly made and innacurate, any one who has experience in this subject willl generally tell yout his the best most accurate and reliable AKs come from Eastern Europe and China.

AK's are not as innacurate as some people make them out to be they are more than accurate enough for most ranges you generally see in combat which is less than 400 meters.

The m16 is better at longer ranges because it is more accurate and has a farther effective range it's not the best weapon in CqC because of its length.

Personally I would take a good Eastern European AKM.

Depends on where it is made. At 400 meters or less an AK is more than accurate enough for someone trained in its use to get the job done if it is well made.

Dude you can legally buy an AK in the US, its not hard just go to a class 3 dealer unless you live in California. Or other states filled with people that have no idea what they are trying to ban.

M16. Sure, the AK is stronger and cheap, but if you were to put 2 guys in a room, one had M16, other AK, the M16 would come out victorious. M16 has good control and a3 round burst, keeping accuracy high.

PS. I have basedthis on experience in BF2 and CS

Lets be honest here, some of these arguments are stupid, especially since the m16 has changed since the 1960's, it's lighter so don't drop it under the tank! but only an IDIOT would anyways, the insurgents in Iraq are using AK47's and the marines are using m16a2's and m16a4's I believe, look at some of the fire fights, you can't fire an AK from behind cover at all, it has way to much recoil, like I said before, there are other simmiliar version of the M16 like the c7 that is more rugged.

Niether is better. They were both designed with different ideas for battle in mind. The AK-47 is not as jam proof as you all think. You can piss on it and it will work yes but it too must be cleaned. And the M16 is not as jam prone as it is said to. You must clean it because it creates a mess inside when it fires. The jamming problem was overstated because troops did not get cleaning kits it Vietnam. Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. I prefer the M16 because its lighter and the round has less recoil. I want to get an AR-15 a semi automatic version for civilians. And for close quarters the M4 carbine which is a shorter cousin to the M16 designed for close quarters and urban combat is great. Oh by the way what about the AK-101 which uses thethe M16's bullet and has better accuaracy and wieght than the AK-47.

I've only ever handled an AK-47 back in the country of my ethnicity (my relatives are rich, and as such, don't are never bothered by authorities). I never tried an M16, but I do know that from shooting practice targets out on my uncle's estate that it would definately get the job done.

I don't know how well though, since my only other firearms experience was with a glock and a Enfield rifle.

You know scilencers don't make the weapon quiet like you see on TV only a few scilenced weapons do that. Most scilencers just make the weapon quiet enough to be fired indoors without killing your eardrums. Thats why the SWAT uses them. Its because they need to fire indoors without going deaf.

M4's don't have the range of eithe ran M16 or a well-made AK. It overheats andd it is quite jam prone more than the M16 I believe. Also As most of you have ignored my posts.

IT DEPENDS ON WHERE the AK in question is made. I've seen a chick pull off a 400 meter shot and hit bullseye 5/5 times. She had had no prior experience with the weapon, why because it was well made it wasn't some cheap knockoff it was made by IZHMASH.

ive always been partial to guns like the saw and the chaingun/minigun

but on to the actual debate it is true that the m16 is more advanced and has better accuracy and thus range, i have to go with ak cause of the ammount of punishment it can take

The AK47 is cheap and easy to maintain. The price for this is accuracy. The M16 is more accurate but more expensive and requires more training to use. All special forces units use weapons based on the M16 design. I'd say that this pretty well settles the argument of which is a better weapon.

[QUOTE="marklarmer"]What about an M4? nice and lightweight, cheaper and still packs heat.:Pmealex

Or just blind luck?

Niether really, all depends on the shooter. However, there are a lot of cheap AK knock off's being produced today. Anyhew, I do believe Ive seen various programs on the History Channel involving US special forces and other specialists who do prefer AK's in combat, but I dont recall their reasoning for doing so. And is it just me, or are there so many variants of these guns that its hard to identify them? Of course, I have no military expierience so maby its just me.

How can you shoot someone in the stomach and it comes out their head? Is it remote controlled bullets?
