This statement is so false to such a HUGE extent it's not even funny.

Then it should be easy to argue then.

Saying that God has no place in government is saying that God either shouldn't be involved or isn't able to be involved. Either way, that's saying God's limited, and he's anything but.

No, it's relevant. If free will exists, then god is limited. And, it is our goverment's duty to grant the right of the citizens to be able to enact on said free will when it comes to issues that don't hurt other people.

[QUOTE="wiifan001"][QUOTE="mattykovax"][QUOTE="wiifan001"] Yeah, I know. It wasn't created by the Bible. It's just an example of solid evidence of what is rightful marraige, and what is not. [QUOTE="Videodogg"] By the rights granted to them by the state they ARE married whether you like it or not. They have a little piece of paper called a marriage certificate, and are now afforded all the rights and legalities of any married couple.

It's a piece of paper with words. It has no real meaning, only a false meaning that is being attempted to be accepted in today's society. It has no meaning.

Nice one, Maine. :) I say that as a Christian, as well. I think there's a huge difference between marriage as a religious institution and as a state institution. To be married in a religious sense, you go to a church and say your vows, and then that marriage is recognized by "God and everybody" as we say here in the south. But to get married in the state sense, you have to sign a document. You sign this paper, and you get legal, government benefits. You can do this without stepping foot in a church. Because of the government benefits, it's a state institution. You can't withhold government benefits from legal citizens; it's against the constitution.

God CHOSE to give us free will, not because he couldn't do it. Same sex marraige does hurt other people. It makes this country an even more sickening, poisonous place than it already is now. I want a clean safe country and with things like these happening in our rotting society, it's so dramatically out of place.

No, it's just I have never heard a single good argument against same-sex marriage.

Or, are you not giving one because you can't justify prohibiting it outside of Bible verses?

Immoral wrong-doers? Who ? Evil and immoral propositions? What? What ever happened to freedom, the right to pursue happiness, all men are created equal under the law?

What ever happened to something more important, the Bible? God's law > man's law.

So you would deny that nice hetero hindu couple at the end of the street married status too? In the eyes of the Christian Bible, THEY aren't really married either, I guess.

Meh tbh i've never really cared about gay marriage I mean if I were given a choice i'd probably legalize it but I don't see it as some type of huge "society progression"

It is a progression in that it grants the same rights to everyone.

I'm mocking your arguement. It consists of "same sex marriage is bad. It is it is it is", along with a healthy dose of "i'm christian so everyone should listen to me". I've seen your same complaints a million times over. They're not valid, and you have no real argument against same sex marriage.

The arguments against gay marriage were the same used against interracial marriage which was just over 40 years ago when Loving v. Virginia was going on. The same crap about how it's unnatural, wrong, poisons society, etc. They're illogical and based solely on hate and discrimination. There is no logical reason for gays not to be able to marry.

I also love how people cite the sanctity of marriage, straight people ****ed that up many years ago.

You'd have to give us something tangible to ponder for us to close our minds.
