Guys, GW takes a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG time. Even at the rate it's going(Which is pretty fast), For ALL the ice to copleatly melt would take over a melenia.(1000 years) If you guys know your earth history, The eearth goes though a Ice age every 20,000 to 30,000 years. We are about at the time for another one to happen. About 95% of the GW happening is purly nature. The other 5%, us.

I thought Climatetologist all agreed that if the earth was warm enough to melt the ice caps it would be warm enough to evaporate more water into the atmosphere?

It's up to you to believe it or not, but if I were a precautious person I would apprehend this matter more than some Republican who denies without hesitation.

Considering that there's -40 degrees (celcius) on most palces on the south pole it would mean that the temperature would have to rise with 40 degrees....and if it does, we would have other problems to worry about...

Everyone has a future, and the truth is, that global warming is somewhat a natural thing, but our generation are accellerating the rate in which it happens. If everyone could smarten up and do simple things to reduce energy then maybe our children will be able to enjoy things that we do now, such as being able to go to the beach for longer then 15 before running the risk of severe burns and cancer.

Simple things include: turning off a light when you leave the room, turning your computer off at night, wakling instead of driving everywhere, recycle, go play sports instead of having your tv on 24/7.

it's simple, even more simple then complaining about global warming and screaming that we are all going to die :P

Atmospere temperature doesn't work that way due to convention. But you're right. We do have other problems to worry about.

well, unfortunately, the only people who are willing to try to stop global warming are people living in the US. But, China, and just about all other heavily industrializing nations are not gonna stop their growing economies because of some theory

Although I want to complain that America is the number one country that emits CO2 due to automobiles, I have to give that one to you about China. You're right. The US cares more about global warming than China.

I know what convection is....and if you know something about nature biography....you would come to the conclusion that the ice caps would grow from global warming and not melt.

This goes against almost everything the averange citizen knows....but most of them know almost nothing about physics.

You clearly do not know physics. Icebergs that were in the ocean DO NOT do anything to the sea level. The melting ice and pieces of glaciers that fall into the ocean are the ones that do. Those pices of ice that fall off of glaciers are above sea level and are on land. If you want a physics lecture about how that works, I'll be glad to.

And you are entirely entitled to your own opinion. but what if you are wrong? i can consider that i could be wrong, but what's the harm in saving energy? You save money, you feel better about yourself, so it's a positive thing whether im right or wrong.

Im not a HUGE bush fan, but I would have voted for him instead of other candidates like Al Gore and John kerry.

But, you cant really trust those approval polls. How is it that George bush got re elected when his approval rate was 30 percent? his approval rate had to have been at least more than 50%

You cannot stop global warming, it's a natural pattern in history for the earth to change. I was speaking of SLOWING global warming. Oh, and where do you think most energy comes from? Heavy industry :O

okay, so what does most of the heavy industry in this world work to produce? not energy :O

The other 5%, us. scout10101
That was exactly what I was thinking.

[QUOTE="353535355353535"]*what george bush might say if he were on this forum* "this whole global warming and war in iraq scheme is just an issue to distract us from the real issues. GAY PEOPLE ARE GETTING MARRIED OUT THERE" 353535355353535

He has a record of the lowest approval rating in the history of the United States. 34%.Wow.

Im not a HUGE bush fan, but I would have voted for him instead of other candidates like Al Gore and John kerry.

But, you cant really trust those approval polls. How is it that George bush got re elected when his approval rate was 30 percent? his approval rate had to have been at least more than 50%

John Kerry really didn't deserve to be there. Al Gore may have been a little better, but they still are @#$@@$. :)

regarding what areyoumad said: the sun is a cube? that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I've truly never heard anything more retarded except when that kid told me his parents know when he uses a swear word because they have ears everywhere.

Then why is the swastika  the imitation of the sun?.Ask a hindu, buddhist he would tell you the sun sign is the cube swastika.

And i am not posting for you to believe me,i am warning you that heed my call or you will pay the price later.

check my union for full explanation

from wiki

the two symbols represent the two forms of the creator god Brahma: facing right it represents the evolution of the universe

(Pravritti), facing left it represents the involution of the universe (Nivritti). It is also seen as pointing in all four directions (North,

East, South and West) and thus signifies stability and groundedness. Its use as a sun symbol can first be seen in its

representation of the god Surya. The swastika is considered extremely holy and auspicious by all Hindus, and is regularly used

to decorate all sorts of items to do with Hindu culture

Yes, and what about sars? What about that gas cloud headed for earth in 2012?
There's an infinant number of times the earth SHOULD have ended but really, The earth will most likely survive untill the sun explodes

353535355353535
the earth would, but we sure wont

I don't really like us so i'm not bothered.
There's always been doomsday predictions using scientific "fact" to predict when humanity will end and so far none have been correct.
