All human population won't die out anyway. Maybe half of it or a bit more, but destroying humanity is impossible unless destryoing the whole earth. We are, afterall, the most fittest species in the world.GeorgeTopouria
all species eventually become extinct, you don't have to have a catostraphe for this to happen either.
Eventually evolution will get us, the question is will what we evolve into succeed or fail?

Breeds usually branch off to eliminate the chance of total extinction (human / neanderthaler as an obvious example)
However due to humans lack of selection the weak genes are no longer denied the chance of reproduction, not only that but due to our ability to travel across the globe in matter of days soon there wont be any races left as we will just all be a mix of the diverent races we have today, asian/afrikan and european

By doing this humanity hs efectively lost the chance to evolve any further.
Evolution cant work without natural selection on of the many natural laws we chose to ignore,

But on the other we dont "need" to evolve any further as we simply change the world around us into whatever suits our needs.

That's the old theory of evolution!
The new theory is that species are constantly evolving it and it has nothing to do with enviromental factors, or atleast a lot less thus meaning that we will evolve no matter what.
It certainly makes more sense compared tot he old theory due to some lingering questions with the old theory that have not been answered.

I'm shocking at explaining all this though, I'll try and finda  link.
