Wait what? How is Iran's leader better then Gaddafi, in this very speech he claimed that his country was a foundation of individual liberty and freedom..

I can not explain to you without screaming at the screen... it's just... no, it doesn't matter, both are bad and lets leave it at that. Also, if you don't understand neither Arabic or Persian, then how can you truly compare Gaddafi and Mahmoud first-hand? You just rely on your local media to translate and bring what they want. Which, putting the agenda aside, will certainly undermine true assessment of how differently terrible both are. Demokarasi...Jesus Christ, people in the West really have no clue about Gaddafi. I think I have some tin-foil hats in my closet you might enjoy...Seriously, you think that multiple global news agencies would grossly misrpreresent what an official is saying? Do you have any idea of the number of people that would be crying out "this was not translated properly"? You seem to be unusually invested in this subject, particularly in the emotional sense. Both men are ruthless dictators who have an inflated sense of importance and have a degree of delusion and disconnect with reality that it's almost as hilarious as it is horrifying. Gaddafi and Ahmadinejad are quite comparable, no matter how much you yell at users to not do so on an online forum.

You just told an Israeli you know why other Easterners hate him did you not? Um, first of all, I did not know his nationality, and frankly, I do not care. Not much to read from in between those lines. Seems rather obvious a statement.
... unless of course those US diplomats and Mahmoud are sharing beer and babes after the show, then I'd have to admit I totally missed that possibility from between the lines of the walkout.

Arabic, yes. Persian, basics. I'm an Eastern anyway, I don't need to learn squat to know why other Easterns hate Westernization. You made the "lost in translation" point the crux of your argument. From my experience, people who speak both farsi and arabic are really very rare. Since speaking "basics" in persian is very vague, I'll go on a limb and say that you rely on a translation of ahmedinijahd, as well- robbing your entire argument of any content.I can not explain to you without screaming at the screen... I've had similar experiences with subzero. :3
I never proclaimed I was any better. But I do understand what he's saying without the need to listen to him, the sentiments that is. I'm not the one that is surprised by Mahmoud's actions either. Basics means random vocabulary and united script + similar words. I actually plan on learning it since all I need is grammar and vocabulary.[QUOTE="Victorious_Fize"]

By that criteria, I speak basic arabic. I definitely need a translation when listening to gaddafi. Your argument was that gaddafi was much worse than ahmedinijahd, relying the point on your better understanding of the native languages. That argument fell.

No not really, I back my understanding of Iran with my Islamic Arabic Middle Eastern background. The language was just brought up because subzero is alien to Eastern mentality (obviously, ones Islamic in nature), so I told him he can not understand without a direct translation, from the mouth. The media there has one, and one status quo for Eastern Muslims. That's why, when you compare Ghaddafi to Mahmoud, you do need to learn the languages, or Arabic at least, since maybe seeing Ghaddafi alone will make you think back on that.

Exactly sabre rattling.. Thats basically what the Iranian and North Korean leadership have been doing for decades.. North Korea's leader has become a pro in acting crazy simply for countries to give them money to shut up and other such things.
