Just like all the stupid shlt that gets passed/banned here in CA, I find it hard to feel bad for everyone there as a whole if they choose to accept this BS. The saddest part is that he was voted in for a third term after he blatantly changed the law so that he could run for a third term, and then changed the law back so that nobody else could run for a third term. I can't stand the guy but when living in a republic sometimes you get screwed because the majority consists of a bunch of idiots.[QUOTE="dave123321"]I feel bad for for our New York users.Pirate700
Good. This country has a weight problem. I'm glad somebody has the balls to step in and doing something about it.
If American life has taught me anything it is people get what they want, even if it kills them. which is what fat people are currently doing to themselves anyway. Taking it away will do nothing at worst by this logic.[QUOTE="MakeMeaSammitch"]

so what right do they have to tell the people what they can or cannot eat? this is a just plain moronic law.
there are more concerning matters in the world and this is what he's worried about, Soda? give me a f*cking breakFinalFightersThis. lolBloomberg
For clarity I will say that this is attached to the original Soda ban bill and it doesn't outlaw soda, but it does reduce the size you can buy in one container. That being said Soda is gross, but people have to come to that conclusion on their own. Can't force people to do anything, even if it is good for them. Look at the fools that continue to smoke themselves in the grave with Tobacco. You tell them, you show them, and still they want to f*cking do it. Just live your life and stop trying to police others, it's a waste of time!

These regulations are major bullsh!t, completely a breach of personal liberty. I understand the want to fight obesity and diseases like diabetes, and I could understand such regulations in elementary/middle/high schools, but this is the completely wrong way to go about it. This will not stop obesity or diabetes, you need proper health education to do that.

That's crap! These walking blobs know how they got like that, it isn't a secret or some highly level medical science. They just choose to continue down this path because they want to. It's very simple! You could talk until you are blue in the face, but pudgey paul is still going to order that #1 with large fries and a 44 oz soda.Good for him, I wish Canada would do something like this. If people won't fight this sugary crap by themselves, someone has to. There are no positives to drinking soda imo. If you need a sugary drink, try some "real" fruit juice. As well as making PE mandatory throughout all of school and everyday.
No, they don't have to. If someone wants to eat sugar then you cant stop them, they will just pick up a candy bar or something else. This kind of legislation makes no sense because it fixes nothing.Maybe this sounds dumb, but I think its more likely that these laws are being passed because the coffee companies are seeing a dip in there sales because of all these energy drinks and such and they want to get rid of them, so they lobby for it through these laws. I think that makes more sense, I mean this will do nothing for peoples health, all it will do is make business's sell less soda and make less money in a bad economy, theres got to be something else going on, this is just dumb.Good for him, I wish Canada would do something like this. That doesn't mean, though, that you should be lawfully allowed to eat whatever you want.thegergI disagree. Nothing is more worthless than legislation like such.

While they're at it they might as well ban cars and make everyone start walking or riding bikes everywhere to get more exercise.

Also, no one person drinks a 2 liter bottle of soda. What if you are having a party and you want to get some pizza and 2 liter soda for everyone to share?

I agree to a point, but soda is one of the main culprits. I also think that energy drinks should get the same treatment especially since they're labeled as a "health product" on some of the cans. These sugary drinks have no purpose, at least with a candy bar or bag of chips you can get a possible feeling fullness, instead of just a liquid in your stomach. You're probably right about the lobbying part where those companies are start to feel the pressure about their sales. This is something the world needs to change as a whole. Personal well-being should always come first and your economy second. I just think it's good to take away some of these bad choices because it's one less item for these people to grab that's bad for them. And one step closer to getting something healthy.Good for him, I wish Canada would do something like this. If people won't fight this sugary crap by themselves, someone has to. No thanks. Do you really feel you should be able to eat whatever you want? Are you still on this? No we should not be able eat things like children or people's televisions that we don't own. But that is not what is being discussed. Please try to keep up. You are embarrassing yourself. Bloomberg is a moron. What good will that possibly do besides causing people to spend more money on the big soda companies. Buying 2 16 liters instead of 1 32. ferrari2001The thing is, most people won't buy two 160z drinks. They'l be satisfied enough with one that they won't want tocarry aroud the secnd cup.
The reason people get the 32oz now is the psychological thing of wanting to have the biggest one.

Or they have multiple people to eat the pizza with....duh.No one can tell someone else what they can and cannot eat... let alone legislate it.ZevianderOf course you cant. Look what they did in New York
Any way, they're not controling what people eat, they're only controlling the package size. You can stil buy and consume as much of it as you want.
