He's a racist ass. th3warr1or
This is why I like him.

I don't care that much for him as a person, he sure have issues like all of us.
But i have to admit, as an actor and director he is great, funny thing that i didn't like some of his most acclaim works (The Passion and Apocalypto)
Do you sympathise with Mel Gibson, or have his comments offended you?

All I will say is if his ex has a brother then it's his duty to beat the hell out of Gibson right now. Threats like Gibson's shouldn't go unpunished.
[QUOTE="walkingdream"]He's Australian, Aussie culture is far more racist than Americans down here. It's far more relaxed and i think americans some times don't really understand that.. But TBH i don't think much of him.Danm_999
Two things. Firstly, Mel was born (New York specifically) and raised in the USA, and only moved to Australia when he was 12. Being raised in several places, his attitude is not the product of any single environment.
Secondly, the things he's said are not acceptable in Australia either. Not by any stretch.
Come down to Australia and mix with a lot with the locals and you will be quite surprised what is "acceptable" :p not that i agree with any of it/I don't know anything about his girlfriend (or wife?) but if Mel is telling the story right (through all his angry yelling) I was right there with him until he threatened to kill her and assured her he was capable of it. Too far.
But I gotta say, even when Mel isn't acting, that was a stellar performance. That sounded like it could have been a viral piece.

Just because you're in a clique of racists means all of Australia is? Many cities whites are the minority. Australia is a very multi-cultural country, racism doesn't fly, but that's not to say a few cheeky jokes now and then aren't passed around. And Mel Gibson is as about as Australian as he is a Canadian. He only says he's Australian as it's a novelty to Americans. If he told Americans he was American then they'd yawn....whatever.How could anyone feel sorry for him? Here's just part of his last quote (censored of course, for the sake of the mods here) ""You're an embarrassment to me, you look like a (f-word) pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of (n-word), it will be your fault."paradigm68Yeah, once I heard that I lost much of the sympathy I had for him. I don't mind him as an actor, but something is clearly wrong with him.
