Metal is the most hilarious music genre ever

It really depends on the person.If everyone grew out of metal, then there probably wouldn't be that many metal bands nowadays.

Well...I will admit some stay stuck in the music they grew up on...but they aren't really listening to the newer bands. The thing is that the market is fluid....as some drop the genre others take their place so the bands have a market. Male teens (with some twenty plus) make up the majority of the current metal market.

I'm not talking about Iron Maiden or Metallica - they're alright. And the old stuff like Led Zep and Black Sabbath, that's all cool.

But I mean come on. Metal. It's just hilariously bad. You'll go on at me and say "there's different types" but my god I mean them all: thrash metal, power metal, epic metal, speed metal, glam metal, Australian War metal, death metal, black metal...you name it. Why watch an episode of Monty Python when you can listen to a fully grown man singing about when "time stood still at the Iron Hill" and "slowly in fear, the dark lord appears"?

They have the most ridclious of names. "Megadeath"? "Slayer"? Look at their album titles...Reign in BLOOD! Show No MERCY! God Hates Us ALL! How old are thee people again?

The only type of metal I will listen to it progressive metal...but anything that is truly progressive is always unique and worth listening to, because the musicianship is generally very very good.Progressive metal is probably the only type worth listening to, and it really is different from all the screaming and thepower chords. So other than prog metal, I completely agree with you.

Korp's new album is fricking awesome. I can't stop listening to it! Except when I need a little Nattfodd from Finntroll. Or Jaktens Tid. Also, I love their new album (Finntroll's). Different singer, but still ownage.

The only metal I listen to with screaming is grindcore, and that's reserved for Nasum and Rotten Sound. When I think screaming, I think of that screamo trash like Alexisonfire and...whoever else is like that.

Give me some growls or witch-like shrieks. Not sure what style you would call Finntroll's, it's kind of a mix between the 2 (or Witchery for example [just sounds evil]).

I think he's got the best death metal growls ever. Listen to Bloodbath - Ressurection Through Carnage if interested (no clean singing, just growls).

His range of vocals is awesome. Going from absolutely evil death growls to beautiful clean singing without missing a beat deserves credit.
