Umm the vast majority of Mexicans coming into America illegally are seasonal workers, not criminals. Basically people doing work most Americans would rather not do. Maybe you should think about them next time you make a salad.

I know right. I'd rather waste more in topling governments like in Libya or getting us involved in more wars like in Syria and Yemen. Or even expanding our bombing campaign to surpass the 100,000 we dropped the last 8 years.

Well the president of Mexico says his government will not pay for the wall. Yeah, think we all saw that coming. Wonder what Trump will do now.

Are you aware it is not a case of either or? Are you aware it is possible to ramp down war time activities AND not build an absurd wall?

Accuse Mexico of being part of 9/11 and building weapons of mass destruction. Then proceed to "liberate" them.

I think this whole wall idea is dead in the water. It faces to many legal and legislative hurdles. Trump will never get funding for it from congress and Mexico will never give any money for it.

Ohh and Trump needs a lesson in geography.

A wall wouldn't happen if Mexico actually gave a damn about their own citizens that are hopping the boarder. If they actually fund for more jobs, clean their water, and end corruption (meaning give more power to their congress and people, add laws to over through the government in case of constitutional abuse) Republicans and Trump wouldn't demand for a wall.

I don't think you realize you can make underground walls that can be installed with listenning sensors that can detect tunneling. Or that we have something called Radar than can be used to detect planes, its only been around since WWII.

Or is it that you'd rather spend your tax money to feed and shelter these illegals breaking the law, committing crimes in our land and violating our national sovereignty than rather protect our national borders?

Then people will develop radar blocking tunnels, and the US will bypass those, and they'll find a way to get around that technology, and on and on it goes.

This does nothing to address the fact that the share of overall illegal immigrant in the US from Mexico is dropping every year. Mexico now stands at around 50% of the illegal immigrant sample. Now, has Donald Trump said word 1 about restricting the immigration of people from China, for example, who simply stay past the expiration of their Visa?

And if financial losses for the US are so worrisome to you, how about deal with the real bank breaker our country shells out taxpayer dough for, year after year. Do you know what that is? I'll give you a hint: _____rate ____idies, Maybe then you can calibrate your anger towards the people who actually take your taxes.....

Thanks for correcting my typo buddy, it completely negates everything I said because I put two n's in one word on accident.

Anyways, you need to realize that by seeing an illegal immigrant you are witnessing a crime because they are here illegally which is breaking the law, but you're so ignorant to that because you're a complete and total partisan.

I've never heard someone say something like breaking crimes before either, I guess it's because you have no idea what you're saying which is most likely the case since you're so focused on someone else's spelling, but breaking crimes is not the same as breaking the law. In fact, it is the opposite of that. Breaking crimes is a good thing and it's actually quite legal, it's what people in law enforcement get paid to do every day.

there's tech and people enough to keep illegal immigrants out, but I doubt it's the solution to the problem, if people flee from poverty and terror, border control will be very expensive to keep em out.

In a perfect world, walls should not exist, sadly we don't live in a perfect world and people will keep on coming to the usa or europe (i'm from europe) just because they know they have a chance for a better life. Who can blame them. I guess at this time walls are the only solution. I don't know if it's the perfect solution for the usa though, I mean the usa is built on immigrants, that's not the same with europe.

You're right. All those drug cartels here that are murdering people left and right aren't breaking laws.

Seriously, do you people think before you type?

Some of those jobs those workers are supposedly stealing are jobs no US citizen wants to work in usually like miscellaneous agriculture jobs or other really low paying jobs.

Probably due to the fact that illegals are working the agricultural jobs. They're not legal citizens, they get payed shit.

I'm going to break it down barney style:

First off, "The government will do nothing to deter illegals coming here at least in terms of monetary issues" ignores that President Obama has worked with Mexico in order to decrease illegal immigration from Mexico as well as being the president with the most deportations. Again, this is attacking symptoms rather than the problem itself: Mexico is burdened with drug violence which is going on thanks to its biggest customer: The U.S. citizen who consumes those drugs. Building a wall might decrease it but life finds a way.

Second, "the government refuses to appropriately address the hiring of illegals." Oh boy, oh boy, you can thank good ol' American capitalism for this. You see, when a business needs to hire someone and no one is applying, that's not good. But when that illegal wants a job and applies for that job, well, lets just say that no one is going to say anything. Is it right? That depends. Do you want to continue to criminalize people leading them to become second class citizens? Or just give them a job because no one else is going to take it? It's a personal opinion but if I were an elected official, I wouldn't want to screw around with the local/state economy. Georgia passed a strict immigration law only to suffer because no one was taking jobs that illegals wanted.

Third, illegal immigrants pay taxes and receive barely to no benefits. I don't want to continue further on this because this is a fact and anything else is a complete load of garbage.

Forth, building a wall won't work. It's costly and won't accomplish anything. Mexican immigration is going down. We can spend on improving American infrastructure, improving education and healthcare but somehow the wall is more important?

Regardless if jobs are available or not, it's naivety at its finest to believe illegals would suddenly stop coming to the United States. The benefits from living in the U.S.A. compared to where these people come from will not go away. Until our government does away with anchor babies, schooling/healthcare/assistance, jobs, etc.., they will come here. The feds need to make it as undesirable as humanly possible. Illegals are a burden on the country regardless of the peachy assessment of them you like to paint. Whether you like it or not, we have a border and we are a sovereign nation and apparently the country is going to start acting that way even if people get their feelings hurt.

Should our country have an open border while relying on the honor system in the hopes that illegals will not enter?

Estimate then? You're free to provide sources to these claims as well, especially since you think it warrants an investigation. If that is so, the evidence should be rightfully damning at face value and somewhat verifiable.

I will not even try to guesstimate how many did. We have already seen issues with voting in the Detroit area and was debated here on this forum. If there is an investigation, so be it.

I'm not surprised that the Mexican president is upset about the wall, since the less illegal aliens from there that enter the US, the less illegal aliens that are able to send money back to their relatives still in Mexico that can be put in their economy. They have very little incentive to see it come up.

Personally, I would rather Washington put the money to build the wall towards other things and crack down on employers that give illegal aliens incentives to come over here than spend it on the wall. People will still find a way over (or under) it and it won't do anything about people overstaying their visas after entering legally.

It would also be nice if some people against the wall spend more time criticizing it because of the cost and how difficult it is to maintain and less time criticizing it with the claim that the wall is being built out of racism against Latinos. Throwing out the race card instead of talking about it being impractical kind of makes people less likely to consider your opinion.

I'm not surprised that the Mexican president is upset about the wall, since the less illegal aliens from there that enter the US, the less illegal aliens that are able to send money back to their relatives still in Mexico that can be put in their economy. They have very little incentive to see it come up.

WTF......Mexico doesn't want the wall and they shouldn't have to pay for it. Trump wants....his billionaire ass can pay for it.

Your theory sounds like it makes sense but then you look at the facts and most of the people crossing the border aren't even from Mexico. You're also assuming a wall will actually stop these people from coming over.

@LJS9502_basic: I know that they don't want it and I never believed for a second that they would willfully pay for it. That is why I said I am not surprised that the Mexican president isn't coming to Washington anymore out of protest.

@HoolaHoopMan:

Allegations are just allegations. Either way the winner was Trump so I don't see why anyone has to make shit up just so they can tell themselves that "the people" voted for him. By which I mean the popular vote which doesn't really go anywhere.

@perfect_blue: I am aware that a lot of the illegal aliens that come over the Mexican border are from Mexico, but some are from countries further south that make their way through Mexico before arriving here.

But I also know that a large portion are people over staying their visas after entering legally (like Jose Vargas, probably the most famous illegal alien in the country who is a Filipino that over stayed his visa), and we need to figure out other ways than spending billions on a wall determined smugglers will still find a way under it.

Umm the vast majority of Mexicans coming into America illegally are seasonal workers, not criminals. Basically people doing work most Americans would rather not do. Maybe you should think about them next time you make a salad.

You mean crossing the border to steal our jobs. The jobs a hardworking American could be doing. Every time I'm eating a salad I'll be telling myself only legal Americans need to be working the fields.

More Predator drones need to be used on the border to help beef up security. Border Patrol needs more funding and man power.

Some of those jobs those workers are supposedly stealing are jobs no US citizen wants to work in usually like miscellaneous agriculture jobs or other really low paying jobs.

Probably due to the fact that illegals are working the agricultural jobs. They're not legal citizens, they get payed shit.

I will take all this illegal immigration noise seriously the day people start telling their children to drop out of school and go pick strawberries for a living.

As for the wall, it's a waste of time, money, and manpower. If you are serious about stopping illegal immigration, then go after the farms, hotels, and construction companies that are more than happy to hire them. People will stop coming if there are no jobs waiting for them.

Oh great. We could send every kid to college or provide health care but we're spending it on a FUCKING WALL.

This is so embarrassing.

Going after companies employing illegals is probably apart of Trumps plan. I mean, why wouldn't it?

Because he's never stated that it is.
