He served his time so I'm fine with him being able to play again, I respect him as a player. I still have no respect for him as a person however, never will.
He was never a good player anyway, and I don't see why any team would sign him. Maybe he can play backup? Vick had his chance on and off the field and blew it.limpbizkit818
He was never a good player? Are you out of your mind?
Anyways. This is good. Fighting dogs isn't all that big of an offence. Donte Stallworth killed a man while drunk driving and he got 30 days in prison...
I wish they'd have banned him. When is the NFL going to wise up and stop giving second chances to all these bad apples in the sport.
Probably around the same time when MLB starts banning PED users. In other words, probably never.I wish they'd have banned him. At least for a year or so. When is the NFL going to wise up and stop giving second chances to all these bad apples in the sport.

From a business perspective; Considering the whole dogfighting conviction, team owners would most likely think that Vick would not be a good influence on their team's image which could then possibly lead to less fans buying tickets and, consequently, making the team lose money.
He hasn't taken a snap in almost 3 years. He was never more than a mediocre passer. He's almost 30 - an old man by NFL standards, and downright ancient for what was basically a glorified runningback.
He'll be lucky to a get a league-minimum contract.

This. If any team starts Vick, they're going to be far from the playoffs.
[QUOTE="elblanquito_81"]Probably around the same time when MLB starts banning PED users. In other words, probably never.Don't even get me started on that. While running a dog-fighting ring, killing someone while driving drunk, or bringing a loaded gun into a nightclub and shooting yourself in the lega aren't really on the same scale as using PEDs, they still show a complete disregard for the integrity of the game for their own selfish needs. MLB shouldn't even stop at banning. They should take a cue from the NFL and make only part of a player's money guaranteed. They **** up and they lose whatever else they had coming. That should help keep most potential 'roid users from trying it. What sickens me is that guys like A-Rod can continue playing, even after being caught cheating (because that's what it is) and yet that fool Bud Selig refuses to reinstate Pete Rose. A guy who's only crime was betting on the sport, nothing more. It's ridiculous.I wish they'd have banned him. At least for a year or so. When is the NFL going to wise up and stop giving second chances to all these bad apples in the sport.

MLB players do forfeit their salaries during suspensions.

Well, yeah, I know that. I just wish they'd lose a lot more.Don't even get me started on that. He deserves to be a Hall of Famer.elblanquito_81

Well, yeah, I know that. I just wish they'd lose a lot more. They should lose more for doing something that doesn't harm anyone but themselves? Do you feel the same about all drug addicts?deserved...team should pick him upchAzN93As a backup or a slash type player. Not sure he can still play QB after so long.
[QUOTE="MoonMarvel"] They should lose more for doing something that doesn't harm anyone but themselves? Do you feel the same about all drug addicts?ethanpaigeI feel that forfeiting their salaries is a fine punishment, but I do wish MLB would take a stronger hold on something that damages the integrity of the game. I don't want to look in the record books 20 years from now and see an asterisk next to all the leaders. Suspension without pay is fine, but punishing people forever for something that doesn't hurt another human is silly.

But I feel that their stats should be erased from the books, and they should lose all eligibility for any records or hall of fame induction.

Well, yeah, I know that. I just wish they'd lose a lot more.Manny Ramirez lost $7.4 million. Just exactly how much more do you think he should lose?
I'm not crying over an MLB player losing money. A-Rod makes more money in a week than most other working citizens make in a year. I really don't think they mind it that much :PManny Ramirez lost $7.4 million. Just exactly how much more do you think he should lose?

Sorry to see the comissioner lost his backbone over this. Vick was a marginal player, is a terrible person and now he gets to play football? Let him go work construction or at Wal-Mart because I will not watch one NFL game now that he's back. I hope the suffering he gave to those animals is returned to him 100 times over in the afterlife.

Oh, please. Tell us you were already boycotting the league due to Leonard Little before sharing your indignation.
Wow, so you're not going to watch NFL games because of what ONE person did? lolwut?Sorry to see the comissioner lost his backbone over this.
