[QUOTE="jim_shorts"]The only frustrating thing is comments like yours. Check out the early UFC fights...hell UFC 1 is a prime example. Gracie defeated Shamrock who must have outweighed him by 80 pounds at least. This thread is so frustrating. Bruce Lee wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of beating Tyson. Tyson is AT LEAST 40 pounds heavier and three inches taller. Not to mention how much stronger Tyson was in his prime.

Yeah...except lets pretend that Gracie didn't win UFC 1. Let's pretend that all he's ever done is make movies and do martial arts demos. Shamrock is still Shamrock. Now there's a thread online saying that Gracie, movie star, will beat Shamrock, fighter. It's ridiculous.
Lee's kicks would have a longer reach.Tyson would be out of his game once he saw a kick coming.[QUOTE="JohnF111"]Tyson, it's a well known fact that a boxers jab is far faster than any move Lee could make (and yes his movies used stop-gap techniques to appear faster than he really was).killzowned24
Lee goes,low kick ,low kick,high kick...good night :P

I'm pretty sure that was Gracies first professional fight:

On the other hand, Shamrock had quite a few under his belt by that time:

We finally get to see if Tyson likes a chinese buffet? Sure.We can all agree it would be a kickass fight, right?

You mean kicking this fast?
And in a fight, Bruce lee would use his "six inch punch" to create a gap in space, giving him enough room to perform a deadly flying kick.
[QUOTE="lightleggy"]
[QUOTE="Aljosa23"]What? Tyson is 2-3 inches taller than Lee with a reach of 71 inches. Lee would need to be lightening quick and have ridiculous reach to be able to do sufficient damage to Tyson.Never mind the fact how fast Mike Tyson is and coupled with his size? Scaaaaaaaary.

Ha, "I can do that, hold my beer." *falls on face*
"Give me my beer."
Thats how it would end for pretty much anyone :P Apparently, one of the receptors of Lee's kicks said that it felt like being hit by a car, and the guy wasn't even kicked in his body, he was holding a bag and lee kicked it with so much force the guy just fell back. And it makes sense, from a physical point of view, with that speed, he would be able to nearly double his kinetic energy, add that the already incredible strenght he had, and you end up with someone who hits at least 4 times as hard than a guy like Tyson.I'm no martial arts expert, but it seems like boxing is only really effective against other boxers while fought with specific rules in place. in a scenario where there are no rules, and the opponent knows multiple martial arts styles that were designed to be fought without rules, I think the boxer would be at a severe disadvantage.
Yup, like I said, boxing is terrible for self defense. dont get me wrong, a boxer can wreck you in a fight, but thats how it has to be: a fight, it sucks for self defense because unlike other martial arts like judo, kung fu or karate, it doesn't teach you what to do in a situation where, for example, your enemy attacks you from behind, or if they try to use luxations on you or chokes. Tyson wouldn't know how to react to Lee's moves. The same thing happens whenever a top-notch boxer goes into UFC without knowing other martial art. In the UFC, you can see some guys who actually get in (and are succesful) knowing only 1 martial art, David Villa for example, only fights judo, he even goes to the hexagon with a judo gi (which actually puts him at a disadvantage) and he still wrecks anyone. I remember a few years ago, some world class boxer, I dont remember his name, he was a bald black man, kind of chubby but still a heavyweight champion, he got in the UFC and he had his ass whopped in like 10 seconds, because he only knew boxing.I'm no martial arts expert, but it seems like boxing is only really effective against other boxers while fought with specific rules in place. in a scenario where there are no rules, and the opponent knows multiple martial arts styles that were designed to be fought without rules, I think the boxer would be at a severe disadvantage.

It was James Toney, and he fought Randy Couture. He fought a legend in the sport of fighting, with an established record against numerous opponents who had their own impressive records against other opponents. Bruce Lee is not in the same category as Randy Couture.
Why is it always Bruce Lee in these threads? Why Jet Li? Or Jackie Chan? Or Steven Seagal? Or any other f***ing movie star?
You have a movie star who claims he can do all sorts of dangerous things, but you've never, ever, actually seen him do his moves against a real, resisting opponent. And you just take him at his word that he can do these amazing things. I guess people are gullible. This is why bullshido outfits make money. Go watch UFC 1-5. A whole slew of people thought they could do amazing things until they were dropped into a real fight.
One hit from Tyson would seriously injury, or possibly kill Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee could easily take down Tyson, just because he's small doesn't make him weak.
Since it's no rules and no protective gear I think Bruce Lee, being quicker, would just kick Tyson in the nuts and the fight is over.themajormayor
I read through 7 pages to post this exact thing...and you beat me to it, hehe.
You are right. 99% of the time I take Tyson, but since this is no rules with no gear it will play out exactly as you say.
And the reason why it will be this instead of the other way around is because Tyson is a moron and a brute ruled by emotion whereas Lee is a thinking man and self disciplined.
Tyson will rage wade in. Lee will know this. It's over in 10 secs.
Same goes for Tyson, we've already discussed how according to physics, one hit from Lee would be twice as hard than anything tyson can pullOne hit from Tyson would seriously injury, or possibly kill Bruce Lee.

You are an idiot, you believe that because these people are actors, that they would be helpless in a real fight. Our of the guys you mentioned, only Jet Li could be considered a "fake", and just because he loves to use wires to fly around in his movies, Jackie Chan always pulled his own stunts and fights and you should see a documentary on the many times he failed and nearly died while filiming a movie (he once fell off a clock tower, which wasn't supposed to happen and only survived because there was a small cloth-made roof below him, he got hit by a chopper, he was crushed by a car between another car..) There is actually video footage of Jackie Chan training at Peking Opera, which was also known to be an extremely controversial place, go watch those training videos and tell me if you still believe that Jackie Chan is not a real fighter. As for Steven Seagal, he IS a real sheriff in the US, so yeah Im pretty sure the guy can kick ass in real life, as any other sheriff could. funny because I bet any of those guys, even Li would beat the living **** out of you in 2 seconds. Why is it always Bruce Lee in these threads? Mike Tyson's punch is anywhere from 1600-1900 psi and that's enough to kill the average man with one punch to the head. Now, how the fvck can Lee even hope to match that let alone hit twice as hard (LOL).

Because Lee's move would make more Kinectic energy than Tyson's, thus hitting faster, Lee could hit faster, way faster than tyson, sure tyson was fast, but lee was faster, his kicks would easily best any of tyson's punchs, you also seem to be forgetting that Lee was incredibly fit and also strong. Hell, how do you think that the one inch punch technique works? it uses kinetic energy to cause that much damage from 1-2 cm away, now imagine how hard that would be with a regular's punch space.I like how the people saying Lee are (hopefully) aware that no actual footage of any of his fights or ridiculous feats exist outside of his friends saying it and on Bruce Lee fansites lol. I love Lee as an action star and writer but a fighter able to take on people who do it for money, especially a monster like Mike Tyson, is ridiculous. So sad how Lee's legacy has been reduced to mysticism akin to Wong Fei-Hung.
Im not discussing any of his feats like holding a V position or anything like that, but he WAS incredibly skilled and he did made demonstrations (again, 1 inch punch demonstration where he destroyed a wood plank 1 away away), there are plenty of vids showing Lee's achievements, and yes there is one vid where he is seen doing 1 handed push ups with his thump and index only.I like how the people saying Lee are (hopefully) aware that no actual footage of any of his fights or ridiculous feats exist outside of his friends saying it and on Bruce Lee fansites lol. You have no idea what you're talking about. The 1 inch punch isn't an actual fighting technique, it's an exercise designed to improve your punching technique. Lee was fit and strong sure, but HE'S NO MIKE TYSON nor is any other comparison in this thread relevant since they're not Mike Tyson. Tyson fights FOR A LIVING, Lee does it in films with the aid of high-speed cameras.Because Lee's move would make more Kinectic energy than Tyson's, thus hitting faster, Lee could hit faster, way faster than tyson, sure tyson was fast, but lee was faster, his kicks would easily best any of tyson's punchs, you also seem to be forgetting that Lee was incredibly fit and also strong.
