lol. id be in the airforce. Its pretty safe compared to storming beaches and such
Well, if the enemy develop's some kind of "state of the art" AA system, which is pretty hard to evade.... your screwed, seriously screwed. The F-22 Raptor used by the Air Force is the most state of the art piece of technology in the entire world, it is near impossible to get a target lock on the raptor due to it's stealth design in the framework and its electronic counter measures, and even if you do the Raptor is capable of the most high performance manuvers in a fighter. The onboard computer avionics is advanced enough to handle alot of the flight mechanics itself taking a lot of weight off the pilot's shoulders and allowing for precision turns at high speeds and unorthodox manuvers at high speeds.
That's not to say the F-15 or F-16 are bad however. And as to those saying getting in as a pilot is near impossible..er, not really. The Airforce flies F-15's, F-16's, F-22's, and a variety of bombers and transports. We have bases all over the US, Europe, and south asia. All you need is some time logged in a Sesna (Not too expensive to get pilot lessons these days) and have good eyesight (or correctable to 20/20 eyesight) and a position open and they'll take you in as a pilot. Best bet is to go in as enlisted so you're in and getting military experience and then later go for the pilot-officer position as i am doing.
