Ehich do you prefer? I prefer classic, mainly Aerosmith, if they count.

Classic rock all the way! Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, The Eagles, Boston, Def Leppard, Van Halen, and Journey, just to name a few.
AC/DC? Really? They are the Nickelback of their time...AC/DC says it all. Classic rock is the way to go.

[QUOTE="--Thomas--"]AC/DC? Really? They are the Nickelback of their time... I hope you're not implying anything bad about AC/DC. ;) Their Back In Black album is the second best-selling album of all time.AC/DC says it all. Classic rock is the way to go.

It gets longer with each new release.
AC/DC has the record for the world's longest song. It spans 18 albums. :PD_Battery:lol: So true.
I hope you're not implying anything bad about AC/DC. ;)--Thomas--Oh no...aside from every song sounding exactly the same, the incredibly simplistic riffs and drumming, the lame lyrics, and having one of the worst vocalists in existence....aside from all that...they aren't that bad >____>
Please enlighten me as to what the "classic rock sound" is. If I could explain it better I would have, but my post is misleading. I do like a lot of Classic Rock but listening to a Classic Rock station on the radio for an hour is mind-numbing. I can't put my finger on what aspect is most annoying but the songs that get the most radio play all tend to have the same sound.[QUOTE="WolfattheDoor34"]Modern. I hate the Classic Rock sound. It all blends together and starts to sound so bland. I hate it when The Rolling Stones get lumped in with that period.LZ71
Classic rock by a landslide. Most good modern rock is more so alternative, actual modern rock sucks bad (Some good here and there). Unless you count grunge as modern rock.
****c rock there is such variety and uniqueness that every band has. Most importantly, it rocked which is something most modern rock songs don't really have. Just the originality and the hook that came with songs from that time was amazing and they still hold up to the test of time.

Try finding a rock band that can beat those numbers. Brian Johnson = Win.

Brian Johnson = Win.Yes, it can still be very bad, see, the thing is, sales do not equal talent, surprisingly, some people consider the music it self to be the most important thing in deciding if something is good or not, rather then looking at the sales numbers and going along with what everyone else thinks:o
I love you. I'd have to say modern, because my favorite bands are The Strokes, The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, etc. Although classic is great too (albeit overrated at times).modern has THE STROKES.
classic has every legendary band known to man.
i still love both :)

Numbers don't indicate talent. ;) Oh, and Bon Scott>Brian Johnson.LZ71Yeah, Bon Scott is one funny man. Still prefer Johnson though.
@ultamite_gamer: It does count re-releases etc. So when it comes to the original release I would not make that claim. :)
@Darth-Caedus: I guess everyone has their opinion. Which band would you prefer by the way? ;)
I'll go with modern. CIassic rock is the single most overrated form of music in existence, the only cIassic rock band that I think actually deserves the amount of praise they get is Pink Floyd. Darth-CaedusWhat about The Beatles?

What about The Beatles? and rush, and yes, and genesis, and king crimson, and the rolling stones ( FOR INVENTING ROCK AND ROLL), the who, queen, jethro tull, led zeppelin... list goes on... i actually think the beatles are overrated :P[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"]I'll go with modern. Well first of all the Rock genre has many sub-genres within it including Metal, Alternative, Psychedelic, Punk, Hard Rock, Progressive etc.
What you are referring to as Classic Rock (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin etc) is mostly Hard Rock. Hard Rock nowadays is really bad so I would agree that Classic Hard Rock owns Modern Hard Rock.
But if we're talking about Rock in general, I have to say that Modern Rock is better than Classic Rock. Specially if we're talking about 80's up to now, even 90's up to now is pretty awesome. It definitely evolved into something greater and broader.
What about The Beatles? and rush, and yes, and genesis, and king crimson, and the rolling stones ( FOR INVENTING ROCK AND ROLL), the who, queen, jethro tull, led zeppelin... list goes on... i actually think the beatles are overrated :PRush maybe deserve their hype, the rest however, I find to all be massively overrated. Don't get me wrong, they are all still good, but nothing deserving of the praise they get.[QUOTE="Frenzyd109"]
