any and everything from Saló [or the 120 days of sodom]

tho the end scene where they stab the kids eye out gets me everytime.

dreamachine

I looked it up on Wikipedia and it sounds sick. And the worst part is that it's based off of a book, and the book features even more grusome crap.

I would say the online videos such as 2 girls 1 cup, and other similar videos, those videos are so freakin' nasty though I never actually seen them but I did heard they were really disturbing and nasty.

As I mentioned earlier the director of that film also did what is perhaps the best film about Jesus Christ's life.

The part in "Saving Private Ryan" where the German soldier stabs Apaum slowly and deliberately while his partner does NOTHING to stop it. Then the soldier smiles at him and walks out while he sits there like a scared old woman.IamLegend316

I'm pretty much in the same boat. It's the non-horror stuff that disturbs me like Men Behind the Sun and Salo. Of more recent films the one scene which distrubed me the most was the extended rape scene of Monica Bellucci's character in Irreversible.

Samwel_X

Men Behind the Sun, like Cannibal Holocaust is so grotesque in its appearance, that it fails to disturb after a while, just saturate, which besides making me feel like I;ve lost my humanity for not feeling anything for the emotive images, does nothing.

Irreversible's rape scene is considerably worse than the fire extinguisher. But now someone else has mentioned the big one, which is Salo. Personally, out of all the films I have ever seen, and I have seen some pretty dark things, Salo is certainly the hardest to watch, because not only is it ghastly in presentation, it is relentless, and it is relentless on an emotional, and mental level as well as the physical level.

Salo is a joke.

that doesn't count as your disturbing scene then, also the question was meant to be towards movies, and things on tv, shock videos don't count...to me.

I'm wondering if peopl ehave actually seen 2 Girls and a Cup. I know it's a huge viral vid, but I always hear people say they heard it was disgusting but because of what so and so told them and not really what they saw.

As for observer asking why Salo is a joke to some. In my experience those who see it as a joke told me that things just got so extreme and disgusting that it became funny. They had to laugh at all the stuff going on the screen as a sort of defense mechanism. They usually don't feel the same once they start looking back at the stuff they thought was funny. I think the same goes with most horror movies where the audience would laugh when someone is butchered. A person either screams and turns away in disgust or they just laugh as loud as possible to make themselves not think about what they're seeing too much.

In a world where Salo exists this thread is laughable.

-DirtySanchez-

 really dude, thats your go to movie for this thread? that has to be one of the most laughable ones ive seen to date, frankly this whole thread is laughable along with every movie/scene posted there in

Either nothing disturbs you or you just haven't seen or don't want to see what's been mentioned.

oh no things bother me, as i posted in the prior reply, things like the Documentries(sp?) about the UT sniper, JFK, things like that that show actual shottings and what not, they are disturbing and sicken me and make me lose faith in human kind, i just dont get that from faked gore of movies, never have or will, not when the real thing has been seen

Maybe he's just desensitize to it all. It happens all the time. I just think that somtimes what people think is gross or gorey automatically equates to disturbing. So he may not be looking at the topic in the right light. I did ask and say that it needn't be horror or things that are outwardly gross to disturb. Maybe Willy Wonka scenes are disturbing or any of the many Julia Roberts ones.

I know people who think like he does but can't sit comfortably through most Disney teen movies. Something about feeling disturbed like watching the movies made them feel like a pedophile. So, again different strokes for different folks.

nah but thats a true point, i understood the topic however, but no no movies disturb me in any sense of the word, as they are and will always be just movies, even those based on real events are in the end just a movie, again to show im not just some heartless bastard, things about JFK/UT sniper/etc. that talk about and actually show footage of the real killings disturbs me completely

Deliverence. The whole "squeal like a pig" scene. Pretty disturbing, and back in the 70s when pop culture wasnt as desensitized as it is now.

When that movie ended, I just sat there and stared at the screen for like 20 minutes...definitely one of the most devastating movies I've ever watched. Good film, though.

I forgot what movie it was, but a year ago I saw a movie and the beginning had a guy staring at a monitor with a cat. The next scene: the cat is dead. And that was just the beginning. :(

When that movie ended, I just sat there and stared at the screen for like 20 minutes...definitely one of the most devastating movies I've ever watched. Good film, though.

yea, pretty much the whole end of that movie was sick. great anti-drug movie for the youngins. lol

Ive been trying to find that movie in stores forever now. Couldnt find it today so I got American History X and Pulp Fiction instead...

Saw III where the doctor has to operate on jigsaws head. That was the only scene in a movie i had to turn away for. Very brutal.

In Robocop 2, there's a sequence where the drug lord captures Robocop in this huge warehouse & his henchmen cut every last limb in his body with industrial cutters & spread black-pepper or something all over his face. Then the pieces r thrown in front of the police station and Robocop is all twitching & mumbling & his eyeballs have rolled back so only the white part can be seen. That was pretty disturbing psychologically & I saw that movie when I was 11, so it really affected me.

Ahh, the double-headed bilbo baggins is what he speaks of. That was somewhat disturbing once they show some of the guys cheering them on are old enough to be their granddad.
