Most overrated movie in recent memory.

Take it a step further due to the apparent success of the actor thread.

I would say Titanic, but that movie is 11 years old....not really "recent".

So with that in mind, my pick goes to "Crash" with "Babel" not far behind.

Well no offense to you guys out there, but I hate it when people call the Dark Knight the best film of all time!:Evil:.:evil:

Id have to say the dark knight. I honestly thought batman begins was way better and the dark knight just seemed like it carried on forever with a weak story =/.

I think people were just blown away by Heath Ledger's performance so it ends up being "TDK is greatest movie ever!" The story was good not phenomenal, Christian Bale was put in the backseat this time around which lowered the score a little bit for me. I mean I loved Heath Ledger as the Joker but would have like bette scenes and dialogue from Christian Bale myself.

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything groundbreaking or amazing in any way. I heard people going on and on about the movie and just thought "meh" after seeing it for myself. Sure it did what it was set out to do but that doesn't make it anything great.

"Favorite movie ever" and "Best movie ever" are 2 different things. The IMDB chart is predicated on the users' favorites and not on movies that really define the art. If you look at it that way, it becomes a lot more reasonable to see it at #1....for the moment.

But it being rated higher than Pulp Fiction is a crime. :lol:

Batman has ALWAYS taken a backseat to the Joker across all the media they have battled in. Even arugably the best Batman story ever told, The Killing Joke, was nearly all about Joker. This isn't a recent thing.Neoyamaneko

Not always, there are plenty of comics that star both Batman and Joker where Batman is the main focus. I was saying I would have liked to see better scenes with Batman and the dialogue for him wasn't nearly as interesting as it could have been.

LMAO only the Godfather Part 1 and Cukoo's Nest are worth a damn out of the movies you listed. You want to get into overrated lets talk Gone With the Wind and Star Wars.

Also, it is to be expected that such a good, new movie that blew away blockbuster records would get up to #1. Remember, IMDB wasn't around when the movies you mentioned came out so not many people are going to bother discussing and rating those movies on IMDB.

I agree. I try not to get suckered in, but it was hard not to with Wall-E, with all the critics and people here raving about it. Its weird though because before I seen it I read reviews by UK critics (I live in the UK) and they were giving it mainly 3 out of 5 stars. I thought they were going to be wrong but after the movie I basically agreed with everything they said...

Overrated films? 300 was extremely overrated as well as the lastest Indiana Jones film. Awful.
