The dear hunter is another one, but they only have 2 albums out. but they're great.
Any band with name recognition cannot by definition be underrated.LJS9502_basicWhat if its a well hated band?
Have you seen that one music video for Blur where the milk carton is going on an adventure? That video and song owns.Blur and the The jam are overrated...

No way is The Jam overrated. Very few people really know their music...Blur and the The jam are overrated...

They are not unknown......therefore, they have fans. As for his initial list...every band on their is/was popular in their time.

popular in some places, T Rex was huge in england, but failed in the U.S because they were not ready for glam rock yet. T Rex and David bowie pretty much created glam rock.

every band has fans >__> whether it be their mothers or a large fan base.Soundgarden. An amazing grunge band that hardly gets mentioned yet has tons of great music and a superb vocalist.I agree. Soundgarden are certaintly superiorto Nirvana. I also would definately NOT put them on a 'most underrated' list... they were after all part of the Seattle 4...
I find it interesting how a band like Nirvana gets mentioned over Soundgarden, Nirvana are pretty overrated actually... they sound very similar to Mudhoney while Soundgarden puts out their own styIe of grunge. Their album Superunknown is amazing (but that's not to say Ultramega OK and Louder Than Love are bad, oh no) , I like every song. I don't actually want to get into how much I like all their albums. Take me forever.foxhound_fox

T Rex did have a hit here....and after listening to more of their music...it is the only song that deserved notice.
Great list. Captain Beefheart should be added on there somewhere,t oo.whos_next000You got dat right buddy boy... Although, I have been somewhat surprised latelyby the amount of people who are down with Captain Beefheart's music.

Yes...but my point is that does not make them underrated. If anything calling them underrated makes them overrated because you are assuming they are more worthy than they are. Because they aren't as popular as you personally (not you...general term) believe they should be does not mean they are underrated.

Do you even know what underrated/overrated mean?
Soundgarden. An amazing grunge band that hardly gets mentioned yet has tons of great music and a superb vocalist.

Gimme a break! Soundgarden is NOT underrated. No, they did not get the publicity that Nirvanna got. Chris Cornell did not have his life scrutinized by the media like Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love etc. However, Soundgarden is one of the most influential "grunge"-era bands of all time.
