Where do you get .8 from? The difference between Israel and Egypt aid is 1.25 billion. Egypt gets 1.55 billion. That's little more than half of Israel's aid. 50% is not a negligible amount. That is not comparable.

That's my point though. Why do people in the US complain about Israel being their only partner in the ME while not fully fostering their relationship with other countries in the region. Jordan is stable with a pro-Western leader, but we don't give them close to the same privileges. Now is the time to build a good relationship with Egypt, which is perhaps the most influential country in the Arab world. Everyone will have to get over our past support for Mubarak, but taking the first step to a long journey is important. Maybe even Tunisia is a good candidate.

From reading articles on Foreign Aid......Israel gets 2.8 billion and Egypt has been averaging 2 billion a year. So currently it's not that bif a difference. You are quoting overall amounts....not current amounts.

Considering recent events in Egypt...one cannot assume that it will remain a stable government. Israel is rather stable in that way. With some countries in the ME who is in power today is not in power tomorrow and being aligned with today's leader can cause backlash in the future. I think it's safe to say that is one of the problems with US-ME relations....no?

there is a lot of talk about aid given to israel. my question is why should it be even? its our money to give and will give it out dependant on the situation and the policies of the receiving country. israel is our closest ally in the region so its not hard to believe they receive a large amount.

another reason isreal shouldnt exsist. i swear pro isrealist or whatever they are called are worst then the fundamental religious groups when it comes to who should own the area of palastine . historically the Jews hardly ever were in control of it , it was mostly eastern roman empire then it became a crusader state area and the n taken by the muslims. so dumb that jews get that region when infact it should be a international area or atleast jeurseluem be a international city state . Jews dint do any thing to have isreal and then when ppl like you say oh hey its ok if we kill thousands of muslims citezens but not ok if they kill 20 of us.

Kinda hard to avoid collateral damage when the terrorist ACTIVELY have civilians with them and use human shields both to deter retaliation and to use as propaganda against Israel when civilians die... Do you expect them to just ignore it and continue to take attacks and suffer deaths without retaliation?

1) Regardless of what you think about religion (I myself hate religion by the way), a group of people called the Israelites did have MANY kingdoms between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean prior to Roman intervention and far prior to Christian and Muslim intervention...

2) Palestine has never been a state... It isn't like the jews invaded and took over a country already in existance... They began to flood OUT of Europe because of discrimination, buying up all the land in the region that is Israel today that they could... Yes BUYING, from PALESTINIANS, for MONEY...

3) You act like they are trying to kill all the Muslims in the world or something? I don't know if you noticed, but Israel has the most advanced and largest military in the Middle East... Not to mention a nuclear arsenal of over 250 nuclear devices of varying yields... If they wanted to kill Muslims... They could kill every Muslim in the entire Middle East right now if they wanted to... And have been able to since the mid 60s... And there has been a large war since then... 1973, Israel getting attacked by 4 different Arab nations, losing badly at the onset, IN POSSESSION OF NUKES AT THE TIME, never using them...

In other words:

Egypt+ Saudi Arabia+ Lebanon+Palestine+Morocco+Tunisia+Libya+Yemen+Oman+Jordan+Kuwait+Bahrain+UAE+Qatar is LESS THAN Israeli Aid

So yes we do give Israel more foreign aid. Why is that?
