Your friend should die.

i wouldnt hate him as long as you know he truly was sorry. and tell him next time to either take it to the ound or a pet adoption centerMy friend used to tell me about this stray cats that keeps on bothering him all night, he would hear them fight all night and smash stuff up. apparently there are many stray cats around his house probably because the neighbors feed them and stuff.
Apparently he was living at a stray cat infested area, there was always a time there was noise outside he knew it was them devil cats messing around and he always try to scare them away but they always keep on coming back.
So one day at night he when to the kitchen for a snack and he found out the the one of the cats was inside the kitchen, the poor thing got really scared because it was in a closed area and the only exit out was from the door behind him and a thin closed window, so the cat got really scared and jumped and smashed the window as it really ran very fast for dear life, so my friend got really angry and grabbed his hunting rifle and and head towards the front door and shot the poor thing, he told me that he was really surprised that he actually shot it, he said he wanted to scare it away instead of shooting it but some how the bullet made its way through the cat. The poor cat dropped dead from the first shot.
I didn't really sense that he felt bad for it, in matter of fact he took a picture of the cat through his mobile camera and showed it to us, this really made me sad. there wasn't so much blood but i could see the wound from its side.
This really makes me sad because i like cats and i tamed a kitten once. My other friends were like "WTF dude, did you really hat to kill it? The poor thing was probably hungry!" and one of my other friends was like "get a dog!"
He said that he didn't meant to kill it, but it accidentally happened. The cat was running very fast and the shot was very lucky to hit it and he feels bad. He said that he was sure that it was a stray cat.
My friend isn't really a very cruel person.

why didn't he just shootthe sky to scare it off he didn't really have to shoot at all it was running away anywaymarkop2003bullets come down just as fast as they go up. And ur avatar makes you or whoever that person is look like a alien :)
Oh, for crying out loud.
A stray cat was hanging out where it shouldn't have been and got shot. I'm not saying I condone it and I'm not saying I would or would not do the same but I am not going to loathe the guy and condemn him to an eternity of hell for what he did.
Innocent?? Just like cows, pigs, and chickens. That cat was a lot less innocent than them. Sure, you don't eat cat but people don't have same problem of consience when they sit down to chew on a steak, porkchop, or breast.
A little backbone, please.

Ok, the next time a stray cat comes within 100 feet of my house I'll be sure that my anti-feline lasers (I'll be getting these in a few minutes, by the way), attached to the sides of the house will kill those nuisances.

Ok , lets hope you get mental help

Let's look at the cats other options, shall we?
Starve to death
Hit by a vehicle
Mauled by another animal
Suffer from disease
etc.
The cat ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time, but who wouldnt prefer an nearly painless and instant death over any of the above options?

That justifies nothing though. The dude was a [Insert insult here] for shooting it. If it was dying and he shot it, fair enough...but come on now...

It was obviously starving if it was looking for food in a strangers house. If it was comfortable or used to scavenging in homes like that, it wouldn't have freaked out and dashed through the window like it did.

Apparently, lots of stray cats hung out by his house. By what you're saying, he should go out there and shoot them all because they're starving.

But apparently it was the first time one was in his house. Just because they hang out there doesn't mean they don't have their own hunting spots.

Now you're just assuming. Isn't it likely that the cat came from the group that 'hung' outside his house and that group are likely to be deprived of food most of the time aswell? The irony is that I'm assuming aswell, but it's a more likely theory considering that the OP said cats hang out there regularly, I reckon.
OT rules! Whenever someone posts a news link about kids getting raped, posters always reply "LOl dem kids got loved by teh pedo bear rofl lmao!" And when someone writes about a brutal murder they respond "Lol nub got pwned."
But when a cat gets shot war is declared. Please, allow me:
"LOL wut?"

I think you're trying to say that just because one cat is hungry, all the others must be as well. I don't quite follow that, maybe I misinterpreted your post, but my assumption is that the cat was an inexperienced hunter and unable to feed itself outside. It went into the house OP mentions, and was unable to obtain food there. Being inexperienced, it reacted poorly to the home owner appearing and freaked out, a mistake that would eventually lead to the cats death. Survival of the fittest says it all.

But as I've been saying, that's not a good enough reason to shoot the thing. Survival of the fittest? So should we execute the less intelligent people in the human race due to them not contributing much to mankind? Same with people who have Down Syndrome. Don't come back with "that's a terrible analogy".
I like cats and don't like when people kill them, but I'm glad to hear that even thoguh he killed it, it was instantaneous with a rifle, not 10 minutes in a microwave or throwing it against the wall, those are the people that make me mad.

It is a terrible analogy, because the cat broke the guys window, it wasn't vistim of a mental illness, it wasn't not contributing to society. Inorder to preserve the welfare of his home (keeping his food for him, not having to pay for more windows) he took it out. I still don't see what the big deal is.

Trust me it gets pretty bad, I saw a topic a while back about a day care center that drugged kids to perform sex acts and alot of the posts just laughed it off. Shooting a cat is indeed a waste of life, but laughing at harming children is appalling.

Like you said, the cat acted out of fear or 'inexperience', so how the heck can you blame it for doing that? Besides, if he had any sense at all, he would have locked all his windows/doors so that the many stray cats that hang outside his house (everynight; the ones' he seems to complain about so much) can't come in. Then he goes and shoots the thing; top stuff that. If you're siding with what he did then I have no further reason to argue with you.

I don't condone shooting it persay, but I certainly don't think the home owner should be shot or "rot with cancer" or some of the other rather scary things other people have been posting. Personally I would've called animal control, but it's over now anyway. All I will argue is that the owner had every right to protect his property.
That's mean :(
My neighboor's cat is aways chilling in the front of my dad's house and he's so awesome :D
He just comes over, and I start petting him, he's purring and all, then he just flops down on my feet and starts wrapping his paws around them
He should've just shot near it to scare it away for good, didn't need to kill it..specialedpalIf you read the TC's post, that's what he meant to do
Meh. Cats are scum.Lobster_EarI don't understand why some people hate cats so much. they're beautiful creatures.
