Which is why, I think, a lot of people despise them. You have to win their affection and tend to their needs. Dogs just cave in and unload a barrel of attention on you (don't get me wrong, I love dogs too).

My god, you guys on OT never cease to amaze me. :| As someone stated earlier, rape and brutal murder and/or death is LOL'd at, but anything with animals (brutal or not) is automatically the vilest crime on earth. He ****ing shot the cat for crying out loud! It's not like he chased after it with a chainsaw!

I probably would of done the same thing, but I wouldn't feel bad about it, stray cats were a problem in my area. I was always getting flea bites all over my legs. Every night I came out with a bb gun and shoot them when they are fighting since they dont let anyone sleep. Death to stray cats!

I find it funny how everyone's crying over a scum cat being shot, but I bet you all would be ok with people shooting rats or using rat traps. And don't give me this "Cats are pets, rats aren't" crap. People DO keep rats as pets. I see no problem shooting a flea and disease infested stray cat that is disturbing someone and their property. I don't think it's wrong for him to shoot a cat, but I think it's dumb discharging a firearm in a residential neighbor hood. The hell with the cat, someone could hae gotten hurt.

I also think that it's sort of stupid to risk being conicted of animal cruelty charges when it'd be just as easy to call animal control and hae the cats put to sleep.

But don't get me wrong, I don't care about the cat at all.

People who abuse animals are pathetic. It's one thing to kill one for food or in self defense, but out of cruelty is just plain evil.

I grew up around this kid that would kill and abuse them, he grew up to sell drugs, rape women, and is now on trial for molesting his two year old daughter. He is also a supsect in several local murders of prostitutes. There is a direct correlation between animal abusers and psychotic behavior.

I take care of pets but strays are different...and I came from a state "abundent" with wildlife so...I've shot and killed plenty of things...as long as it was quick and painless I don't have such a big problem with it....what gun was he using per say? THere are plent of light light bb guns that wouldn't even scratch a cat let alone hurt/kill it.

I honestly don't see this as very cruel/inhumane...think alot of people are over reacting...alot worse things could have happened to that cat thankfully he didn't end up in someone's microwave :|

A common trait among many serial killers is that as children they would torture little animals for fun. I don't think hunting is defined as torture though.

It's dangerous firing any firearm in the dark, especially a rifle. He's lucky he only hit the cat. It's dangerous firing any gun off without a target/something to catch the slug. It should be obvious but the slug won't stop until it hits something or drops to the ground.What good would aiming at the cat do? Aiming at the dirt directly in front of his feet would have been effective.

The cat isn't important. What he did was wreckless.
