It's obvious that very few people in this thread either have or ever had a good, healthy, intimate relationship with anyone.
In any case, advice like "hiding the Twinkies" (I know, that wasn't a serious advice) aren't solutions...she's not your child or your pet. If you are concerned about her health talk to her, be open, honest and receptive to what she tells you and try to understand why she's eating so much; maybe she's bored or trying to take the focus away from what's worrying her. In most cases, overeating is the consequence, not the cause...don't start the conversation with "I've been thinking that you should lose weight", that's just going to make her close up...if she's been sad, start with that; if she used to be really active and now she can't seem to have the energy to get off the couch, start with that.
One last advice for you; NEVER come to GS asking for serious advice...that's like going to a frat house asking for tips on how to stop drinking. People just aren't mature enough for life advice here...they are either kids or trolls and the few good users left in this place just get buried under all the idiocy.
