so why dose everyone like it?

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence."

That CS lewis quote has already been used about 6 times in this thread. You should just put it in your sig."Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. No. WE ARE THE CUUUUTIE MARK CRUSAAAADERS! *epic power ballad* I stand by the notion that MLP is just good television. The songs have a definite charm, nothing grammy worthy but I would totally blast "Art of the Dress" out the window while rolling down main street.so why dose everyone like it?

Did anyone watch the first episode to Season Two today? I thought it was a mild disappointment, a departure from the typical slice of life episodes that we usually saw in Season One. But Discord and cruel Fluttershy are still awesome, though.

I always knew that deep down inside, Pinkie Pie is really crazy and fails to take anything seriously. Perhaps "Cupcakes" wasn't so far off the mark after all.
Did anyone watch the new episode today? Great stuff as usual (and it looked like Twilight was about to give up!)

So I've been recording episodes on my DVR and watching them after work.
It's not a bad show, but I'm left wondering what is so special about it.
So far the most revelating thing is seeing the short portions of shows that come before and after -- truly unnecessary blasts from the past. Today they even had Jem and the Holograms. Somewhere in the back of my mind, the existence of that show and line of toys had been locked away forever... until today.
I'm wondering if I just hit a few duds in the Pony show. I was expecting it to be more awesome than it seems to be.

I think most people like because the fan community behind it is unusually intense, especially in terms of churning out fan content. And people want to be part of that intensity.
It's not a meme anymore - it's really more of an actual fandom these days. Back in the day, people posted the meme because it was the ironic thing to do.
Do you guys buy MLP toys? If not, then you're not a true MLP fan.NiKvaI know I have Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash prettifying my room right now. Twilight Sparkle is on my computer desk and Dash/Rarity are on the corners of my book shelf. They add a certain flare that wasn't there before, I think. And neither the cashiers nor the numerous people have been in my room have said anything.
If you're looking for something incredibly deep or memorable in terms of story...you're not going to find it. That's what people seem to be expecting going into the show. It's a carefully crafted show down to the detail for the visuals and music. The plot is just there to be amusing and at times humorous, but never really serious. Just watch this episode and see if you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVjlUVGlYXUSo I've been recording episodes on my DVR and watching them after work.

Best song from this season yet:

I am rather mum when it comes to pop, but Rarity's singer performed very well. Better than the song they had two episodes ago.
