for every two that are different there are 5 that are the same but that happens to every genre so people shouldn't complain about punk

Meh... I like good punk bands, if you know what I mean...

what do you think of the dead kennedys

That qualifies as a jerk....I don't see how musicians etc have fans when they treat them like that.

Not particularly, but I appreciate good cinema.

I actually haven't seen it yet, but it should be pretty good. Gary Oldman makes everything better.

I actually like Bad Brains more then DK...and Misfits more then Bad Brains...and AFI more then the Misfits...cept one song by the misfits is really meaningful to me. But...boy sets fire and the bouncing souls and flogging molly trump them all for me. Though i dont know what youd classify Flogging Molly as....*shrugs* just damn good in my book lol

>_> Good luck making money off it..or spreading your message...or getting enough money to tour to spread your word or your art...whichever it is lol

Edit: Oh, and I know that you might probably think that you dont care if you make money or not its about the art...but the thing is...you gotta have money to buy guitar strings, amps, drumsticks, drum skins (should your drummer break one in a fit of angry rage in the middle of a real explosive song...) o_o ....microphones, money for renting the place your gonna play >_> ....basically...you need money to play o_o

Hmm, ive yet to hear them live. I had a chance once, but my boyfriend at the time was a total jerk and went without me ^_^ ...he did this several times to me, what with going and seeing my favorite bands and not taking me with...even though i would have paid for my own ticket o_o.  ....Anyhow, I would be happy just seein them live sometime...but...not in a crouded football stadium v_v ...so my dream would never happen *sigh* All well. Husker Du, The Minutemen, Fugazi, The Ramones, The Clash, Black Flag... None of them really sound like each other, when you get down to it. Husker Du was more melodic, the Minutemen were experimental, Fugazi was also very experimental, especially in electronic music, The Ramones were poppy... Great, but poppy. The Clash experimented with everything from raggae to lounge music... Black Flag was probably the most straightforward punk group in that whole list... Greatgone12

[QUOTE="Greatgone12"]Husker Du, The Minutemen, Fugazi, The Ramones, The Clash, Black Flag... None of them really sound like each other, when you get down to it. Husker Du was more melodic, the Minutemen were experimental, Fugazi was also very experimental, especially in electronic music, The Ramones were poppy... Great, but poppy. The Clash experimented with everything from raggae to lounge music... Black Flag was probably the most straightforward punk group in that whole list... xhellcatx

You forgot Bad Brains

(i sorta covered it for him ;) )

jello biafra is god... some of his words molded my thoughts and beliefs. i really like dead kennedys... as much as i tire of punk, i can always listen to them...

xhellcatx

Jello is NOT god....though I wont deny hes a great artist...he is a jerk in person. My views of his persona have changed drastically....yet i do respect his work. .....he is far....very very far from God though. :|

jello biafra is musical god... happy? haha P.S. thumbs up on the old AFI very proud of ya, and shut your mouth and open your eyes is where its at...

Yea "File 13" is one of my favorite songs lol...and "highschool football hero"...but i dunno if thats the actual name of the song...i always get names of songs and which album they belong to screwed up. Heck I dont even remember the names of bands that I really like half the time, theres so many lol...cept ill always remember my few ultra mega favorites ^_^ ...(song names still escape me though 1/2 the time)

file 13 is awsome and im pretty sure you got it right highschool football hero.. yea usually i lost all real cds so i have burned ones and i dont pay that much attention to song names, but i can sing the whole song haha just dont know whats its called... when i saw them a few years ago, i was a little bummed cause i thought they were going to play all new stuff but to my suprise they didnt, they even played cruise control.

I do prefer intimate shows much much better ^_^

i agree... it was pretty packed but i made it up to the front and sang my heart out to davey... :P

Yea, i usually fight my tiny self up to the front too...usually threatened by mosh pits, but actually they were real gentle with me ^_^ For the subhumans concert, i was on the edge of the pit, and it actually sorta "spilled" over towards me, and I started to fall down...but the people behind me caught me. Lucky for me, cause my head would have made direct contact with the edge of the steps x_x. ...I usually end up right next to the speakers up front. Bad for my ears lol, but I love it when I can look into their eyes when they sing and play, and of course I sing my heart out right back to them...especially with Boy Sets Fire. When they play rookie live i almost exploade...seriously...everything inside just starts twitching and i wanna sing along AND I CANT STOP! Then the jumping starts o_o v_v

youve seen subhumans? cool when they came i couldnt make it to the show... my friends and girlfriend went without me :( but yea usually at smaller venues people are cool and usually dont want people getting hurt, and they save you before you hit the floor... or help you up fast.. but at huge shows people dont give a **** and it sucks and it ruins the show... AFI had to stop playing like 4 times to tell people to quit crushing people against the rail..

Yea, most of my shows were seen in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, and they are small enough to be intimate but large enough (usually) to where you have a little elbow room. The Subhumans were awesome, though they were 4 hours late in starting. Ive no idea why....but it was worth the wait. ^_^ ...Thats the one great thing about Minnesota, every show i went to, the people you were surrounded by didnt wanna smash you to bits...big plus for me, since im so tiny and fragile lol i break easy

Lack of sleep and emphasis....either/or.  The choice is yours.

its all on how each person interprets music... imo its more about the movement of the music , that can make up for other shortcomings... but somebody else might think the opposite. to each his own.
