[QUOTE="jeremiah06"] OK so, whats your point? My statement is still valid. You not having problems =/= there being no problems. Most of the effects won't be felt until later on in life anyway. Its the same with diet pills. You may not have any problems at the time of usage. Besides I said CAN occur which in itself implies that some people won't have problems.XilePrincess
Did you read my post? I said some people can have issues, I never claimed there was no problems, it more or less sounded like you were assuming that bad things happen often, which they don't. it's extremely rare to have much more than an offset period the first month or two or gaining 5 pounds for a teenager, especially one that is otherwise healthy and isn't taking anything that would counteract with the pills.
I've been through study after study and asked about a dozen doctors if it'll screw me up later in life to take these, I've been told time and time again that there is no proof that it will do anything. Older people (40s) seem to still believe outdated ideas like that taking birth control will make you not be able to become pregnant after you stop taking it, that it's unsafe to skip periods, or that you have to go off birth control every once in a while to 'relieve' your body of it, which are all untrue. the idea that birth control can cause severe problems in enough people that it's noticeable (which is what I assumed you were implying) is also a myth. Diet pills are nothing the same as birth control, BC regulates hormone levels, diet pills (most of them) work by either trying to speed up your metabolism or block your body from absorbing fat and calories.
I don't know about that.
I know 3 girls (ages 20-28, non smokers) that have had SEVERE problems due to the pill.
There are a couple **** action lawsuits going on atm.
I am glad that you have had no such problems, but that does not discount the fact that others have not been so luckyrawsavon
this brings up a good point that I seem to have forgotten, which I apologize to jeremiah06 for. I forgot about the fact that a lot of girls' bodies don't react normally to one brand of pill, but do fine with another. So again, I apologize, that slipped my mind until I remembered a friend I have who had to go through about a dozen brands before she found one that worked properly for her.
I see you edit and don't worry about it. My original intent was asking that guy who inquired about TC's girlfriend being on the pill if he knew about the risk. Its one thing for a woman like yourself to consciously decide to take the pill, but doing so because your BF pressured you into it isn't right(and it happens a lot).
