It seems they're making it in 3D now (surprise  ).
I love how they made the Air Temples look.

Oh wow that looks absolutely terrible.
The actors and actresses don't look ANYTHING like the original characters look.
I knew this was a bad idea. :(
I wonder how it will turn out. I doubt it will follow the original story line since its too long, I just hope it isnt terrible like the DBZ movie >_>
Theactors forAng, the two Water tribe kids, and the South Pole Water tribe Princess(forgot thier names) look terrible. I also think thecharacters look way too young, they should of got alittle more older actors. But the movie is looking pretty good, just hope it actually does end up being good and not a waste of money.
The water tribes are Eskimo and the earth kingdom is a melting pot. The most Asian cultures are the air nomads and the fire nation.Of every possible race they could have thought of, they made the Fire Nation INDIAN? I also love how they whitewashed every other member of the cast. Avatar is based on East Asian culture, meaning that everybody in the movie should be of East Asian descent.

Not really...Just look at their fighting styles:
Ba Gua - Air
Hung Gar - Earth
Northern Shaolin Kung Fu - Fire
Tai Chi - Water
All four styles were created in China. The Avatar animated series heavily borrowed from Chinese, Japanese, Taoism, Buddhism, and Yoga. There is not a single mention of Eskimo or other non-East Asian influences. The furthest it goes beyond East Asia would be India (Avatar is a word in Sanskrit after all).

Compare the looks, culture and location of the water tribes to that of Eskimo tribes. They're almost identical, down to the clothing. Even some of the characters are played by native American Indians. The South Pole especially.
India is in East Asia. . .and Avatar is a Hindu concept, originating in India.
The Earth Kingdom is the largest nation in the series and has a huge mix of people. Toph and Haru, for instance, don't look Asian at all, while the Kyoshi islanders look somewhat Asian.
The Air Nomads were clearly Chinese with Buddhist leanings; the Fire Nation was mainly Japanese.
Remember that there's not a single mention of any of these cultures in the show because the show is based in a fictional universe. They just take their influence from these cultures.
I'm a little geeky over this show. :P

Aang's actor is Asian American, and Zuko's is Indian American. As for the others, it really doesn't bug me as long as they're good.

Aang speaks in this trailer. He doesn't sound like a baby.
Zuko's the one who says he won't rest until yadda yadda.

He looks like a baby with a stick in the show as well. :P
Yet, he was the oldest character in the entire series. >.> With the possible exception of Bumi.Personally. I hope they keep each fighting style original to their elemental counterparts. Espesically Hung Gar Earth element since it is my favouriteJJ_ProductionsThey might make it look the same, but I doubt it'll be exact because the actors don't all have martial arts knowledge (they had to train during before filming began). The actor who plays Aang has a blackbelt, but I think it's in Tae Kwon Do.

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="solidruss"]I know, right? We finally got to see Appa flying and Katara waterbending (waterbending = best). I'm satisfied. :P Although I think the director don't really understand avatar. I mean, the fire bending is mostly based on aggression and rage, but, at the end of fire bending from the prince just look so clumsy and wrong. And he is like throwing fire, WTH, you don't throw fire in fire beding, you punch it.Geeze harsh crowd.... it looked pretty cool to me:?

I mean seriously... everyone knows you don't throw fire you punch it....
I'm teasing here but man Off Topic is at times the harshest critics on the face of the earth:P

I noticed that too. It also looks like they can't create their own fire; in every single firebending scene, they all use a source, like the waterbenders.

I'm sorry; I couldn't hear you over the fire navy fleet being drowned by Eskimos.
[QUOTE="x8VXU6"]I hope they dont mess this up I think this will be good trilogy because Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko got M. Night back. Well. . .they did, but at some point they were fired, and now that M. Night has the rights, they can't work on anything Airbender ever again.[QUOTE="aka_aj03"]this is not a single film... it going to be a trilogy guys aka_aj03
looks good.
not be racist, but do the water benders (specifically the main two) look a little too...caucasion...to anyone else?
I thought everything else looked spot on, though.
M Night is doing this...so it IS going to be horribleOmzzz
why does everyone say this?
