I'll even take that before any of these! Dude, do you have a lot of bets to pay off or something?

but that can be said about so many people, like even Al Pacino, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, and so on , all good actors but they just have there thing, which sets there characters apart and what usually makes them good.

I like Cage, Adaptation and Matchstick Men really do show he can definitely act, he just doesnt mind doing action film roles, which I hate him for, but I mean atleast he is willing to try do things, he just needs to stop with the PG 13 films

I knew what he meant. I was just standing by my original statement. Nicolas Cage is a terrible actor. Adaptation didn't look as bad as he has been before, but there is just something about him that makes his acting seem...like he is acting. It isn't realistic, it's like he is mocking the character he is supposed to be in every film I've seen him in.

That's Hollywood. You know who's worse? Samuel L. Jackson. I swear that guy takes any movie deal he can get. Elann2008

The rock was a good movie.

But as an actor he isn't that great. His characters are extremely shallow because they're all the same.

I know The Wicker Man received a lot of criticism, but I felt it was a good remake that put just enough spin on the original film to make it interesting again, even with the absurd fighting scenes ;)

But yes... beyond that, I don't consider him to be a great actor. I've been seeing him in films since the mid-80s and in all that time I just don't get what makes him so popular. Some really bad actors get by on their looks, but that doesn't really describe Nick Cage. It's a mystery.

I guess I used to like him because he'd pick such oddball roles. His '50s/'60s teen portrayal in Peggy Sue Got Married was the only comical thing in that movie. And Raising Arizona is one of those oddball roles that he just fit into. But there are only so many roles like that. The man needs to be flexible.
