No... as I said, the Big Bang Theory, like any scientific theory, is a conclusion at which science has arrived by forming hypotheses about observed phenomena, forming predictions from what these hypotheses would imply, and then confirming that these predictions are true. There is plenty of evidence that has led us to believe that the universe was once a singularity that expanded; these include the expansion of the universe and the presence of cosmic microwave background radiation.

Do you doubt atomic theory? Cell theory? Germ theory? None of these theories account for the origins of what they describe, yet nobody has much problem with that.

789shadow

But it doesn't explain how this Singularity or Universe got here. IF you believe in those theories why not the Bible?

Those theories are not about how the singularity got there. You are now using a strawman.

You guys sure love that saying "Strawman". He said those theories don't explain how what they explain came to be, yet we still believe them. So, why not the Bible?

No, we believe that we don't know. If you want to provide a god as the reason, then I could ask where god came from. Saying he was always there can also apply to the universe.

So, The Universe was always here, but how did it form? Where did it come from?

No clue. Do you know?

I do not need to explain how the singularity came into existence to be able to provide evidence that it did. If I see a footprint in a patch of mud, I do not need to tell you who the owner of that shoe was in order to tell you that someone walked through that area.

This is the way any scientific theory is developed: an interesting set of phenomena are observed; people develop hypotheses regarding how one may explain them; people then determine predictions from these hypotheses that would be true if indeed the hypotheses were true; and then we figure out whether these predictions are verified. Cosmic microwave background radiation is an example of that - when the Big Bang Theory was first developed, scientists figured "Huh, if this is true, then there should be some level of nonzero temperature at all points in the universe". Lo and behold, there was, and we had never known this before this moment. So we put a check mark next to that prediction. Do this with enough predictions, and you get a pretty darn good sense that your hypothesis as a whole is pretty darn likely to be true. And this is exactly what has happened with the Big Bang Theory. Every single prediction it has ever made which has been verified has been shown to be true. Hence, we can conclude that the theory itself is probably true, because we have discovered these things about the universe that we hadn't known and which ought to be true if it were true.

Again.

They have no Idea where it came from, why it appeared, They "Think" it came from Black Holes. They don't know where those black holes came from, they believe we came from something that was cooled. How did Life forms come to be then? IF we were formed from a Burning rock and then cooled? Surely that would kill anything.

No offense, but... is there an echo in here?

I would explain again why it does not need proof of that, but you have ignored me every time. :? I am therefore getting the sense that you are not interested in the truth, despite the fact that you are ostensibly asking questions.

No offense, but... is there an echo in here?

I would explain again why it does not need proof, but you have ignored me every time. :?

Why doesn't it need proof? While they are trying to explain how we came to be, why couldn't they figure out how the universe came to be as well?

Because they can't. You expect science to have the answer for everything.

Well, IF science can't answer it. IT mustn't exist then.

[QUOTE="Snipes_2"] IT has no Proof on how we came to be or how the Universe got here in the first place though. They just didn't bother to try and explain that?Snipes_2

*bangs head against a wall* For the last damn time. The Big Bang theory is not about how the singularity came to be, but about how that singularity formed the Universe as we know it.

I know, I just said if they can explain that, why can't they explain how our universe came to be? Did we just materialize out of nowhere?

That's what the Big Bang theory explains. What it doesn't explain is the origin of the singularity.

If I see a footprint in mud, do I need to be able to tell you who it was that walked through there in order to first tell you that someone did so?

That doesn't explain how or where the Universe or Particles came from though.

No. No. No. No. Just no.

But the point is, they're trying to explain it. That's what science is. Finding answers to questions through theory and experimentation. Didn't they teach you this in school?

That's what the Big Bang theory explains. What it doesn't explain is the origin of the singularity.

They don't explain how we appeared though. We couldn't have formed from a Burning Rock with no living life forms on it.

Your question is basically asking if I believe in the Big Bang Theory? You don't need to explain how something came to pass, just how it's here now?

Yes or no?

Please, Enlighten me on the subject. From the site I posted, that was the definition on how our universe formed. "After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot" http://www.big-bang-theory.com/
